Stardew Valley takes the spotlight on PlayStation Plus Monthly update for September

PlayStation Plus Monthly: September 2025

Sony just updated its PlayStation Plus Monthly offers for September and…well, they’re definitely video games, I guess.

The ninth month of 2025 will see Viewfinder as PlayStation 5’s sole offer, while the other two, PlayStation 4 titles are Stardew Valley and Psychonauts 2. Granted, this might sound like a decrease compared to the August update, which brought us Lies of P and DayZ among its offers.

Still, it’s free-ish (or as “free” as a “paid PlayStation Plus Monthly subscription” allows it to be, at least), so you know, not looking at a gifted horse’s mouth and all that… Read on for a quick description on every offer:

Viewfinder (PS5/PS4)

Imagine holding a photo and literally stepping inside it. That’s what happens in Viewfinder: in this 2023 release from Sad Owl Studios,  you take images, like photographs and drawings, and project them onto the game’s 3D space. This transforms landscapes, buildings, or even a room into new geometries and paths you use to solve puzzles.

The goal is to reach a teleporter at the end of each level, but to use it, you need to power it up with batteries or other devices. To make things even more interesting, you later get a Polaroid-style camera and can take your own photos to create and manipulate the world around you.

Stardew Valley (PS4)

One of the most popular games of…2016 (wow!), Stardew Valley sees you leaving your soul-draining, spirit-crushing city job in exchange for a life on a dusty, old farm you inherited like a proper one-percenter.

Contrary to modern day heirs, however, in this PlayStation Plus monthly update, you’ll have to put your back into it: we were not on metaphors when we said “dusty, old”, as the place is pretty much barebones at the start of the game, and it’s up to you to make the best use of your tools to plant, harvest and trade, all the while trying to restore de titular Valley to its former glory against the corporate greed of the big, bad Joja Corporation, which came to town and turned the simpler way of life on its head, as big businesses tend to do.

Psychonauts 2 (PS4)

As a sequel to another, very popular game, Psychonauts 2 puts you on the shoes of Razputin “Raz” Aquato, the powerful young psychic and acrobat, who joined the legendary psychic spies that give the game its name. But his dream job isn’t quite what he expected. The leader isn’t acting himself, and a secret mole is lurking within headquarters.

As Raz, you’ll dive into the minds of allies and enemies alike, navigating bizarre worlds to uncover the conspiracy. With tons of customizable psychic powers at your disposal.

What about August offers

Yeah, about that: last month’s offer—that is, Lies of P, DayZ and My Hero One’s Justice 2 will leave the service on September 1st, marking that as your final deadline to add these three games to your library.

It is worth mentioning that all of the above offers are available across every single subscription tier on PlayStation Plus. The service has plans starting at $9.99 all the way to $159,99, distributed among monthly, trimester and annual subscriptions.

These are usually paid for through credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), but also Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, Discover and Apple Pay. If you don’t have any of those, you can always purchase gift cards on Amazon, add the card’s value to your PlayStation Wallet and make a debit purchase from there: Sony maintains an official store on the platform for that purpose, with offers ranging from $10 to $250.
