Kojima Productions has announced a live event to celebrate its 10-year anniversary, hosted by its main man, Hideo Kojima, as well as bringing “special guest appearances” and “a glimpse into future projects.”
According to the news release, the event will take place at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday, 23rd September, 2025. Tickets are expected to go on sale next Tuesday, September 2, at 10 a.m. JST, which equals September 1st (a.k.a. “today”) at 9 p.m. for the American audience out there, just in case you feel like traveling half a planet to attend in person.
If that’s not your case, given the economy, fear not, as Kojima Productions also states that “a live stream is also planned”, although details were not given at this time.

What to expect of the Kojima Productions 10-year anniversary event
Ten years of existence is a pretty big deal in most industries, and it’s a first for Kojima Productions since, well, you only turn 10 once in a lifetime. The studio did celebrate its five-year birthday with a more modest, online-based occasion, where they showed us a new wallpaper for your desktop, a bunch of official merch and unveiled LUDENS, the brand’s official symbol/mascot. On the 7th anniversary, the company moved to a new office and LUDENS even gained a 1:1 scale model.
So, for the 10th year of life, it seems “KojiPro” is going all out: not only renting a full cinema room is not cheap, the event (which is called “Beyond The Rift”, we might add), ticket prices are going for 7,700 yen, which goes for a little over $50. So…a premium experience of sorts.
As for the “glimpse of the future”, well, we don’t have much to go on—literally, the company has three other confirmed projects since it already launched Death Stranding 2 in June, so it can be one of, or all of the following:
- OD: a partnership with Xbox Game Studios, this game was described as an experimental project that mixes gaming and cinema. We all know how big Kojima is on both topics but, in true Kojima fashion, the man did lot let much on the concept. We do know, that it is a survival horror game and some names involved include Jordan Peele, Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier.
- Physint: A project that marks Kojima’s return to the tactical espionage, stealth action that gave him the fame. Yes, we know: Metal Gear Solid and all that. Focus. According to, well, the incredible volume of nothing in the ways of information about it, Physint may or may not be a PlayStation exclusive, but the title is in a very early stage of development—Kojima himself admitted he’s tackling this one alone—so we probably won’t hear much about it until OD comes out.
- Death Stranding movie adaptation: This is probably the most advanced project Kojima Productions has going on that we know of—and that’s pretty much the best we can give you, as information on this project, as one would expect, is very, very little. What we do know: it’s a partnership with A24 Studios, it’s being directed by Pig’s Michael Sarnoski. It is speculated but unconfirmed if the game’s stellar cast—Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, to name a few—are involved in any capacity.
It is worth noting, however, that Hideo Kojima might also pull a…Hideo Kojima on us and bring something completely new. Even the stuff above, all confirmed to be in development, is pretty much under wraps, so whatever new information will easily fit the “glimpse into the future part”.
But hey, don’t keep us waiting too much, Hideo…
