Ubisoft’s plans for Assassin’s Creed Shadows Nintendo Switch 2 release have surfaced in a new leak. Billbil-kun of Dealabs, a reliable tipster, has shared a report citing a product listing by a French retailer, Auchan. The listing, made live accidentally on October 10, revealed important details about the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the latest Assassin’s Creed title.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Nintendo Switch 2 Version Coming Soon
The report says accidental product listing showed Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ cover image for Nintendo Switch 2. The case is shown in bright red, the signature color scheme for the latest generation of Nintendo gaming handhelds. The cover poster features the game’s two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke.

Interestingly, the listing described the product as a game key card. This means users will need to download the full game even after buying it through a physical store. It is disappointing news for fans of physical copies who prefer true ownership of games.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date, Pre-Orders, and Price Leaked
Billbil-kun further revealed that he was able to confirm the existence of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Nintendo Switch 2 through a separate investigation. The game is reported to launch on December 5, 2025, in France. This suggests the global release should also be around or on the same day.
It is unknown when Ubisoft plans to kick off pre-orders, but the report expects it to be announced by November 7. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is rumored to cost EUR 50 on the Nintendo Switch 2 for the Standard Edition. Retailers are expected to offer promotional offers that could help players get the title relatively cheaply.
In related news, Ubisoft released the Assassin’s Creed Shadows v1.1.1 update last month. It is packed with new features including a few that are connected with the Claws of Awaji expansion pack (DLC). The update adds the new Animus Project: Sanctuary and player level progress has been increased from 60 to 100. One noteworthy addition for PC players is uncapped cutscenes.
The studio has also revealed Assassin’s Creed Mirage Free DLC details. The DLC is named Valley of Memory and is set in the 9th-century region of Saudi Arabia. Its events are specifically set in the ancient city of AlUla. The free expansion pack is said to add about six hours of additional gameplay.
