EA has officially announced that the Battlefield 6 Season 2 release has been delayed to work on “community feedback”. The Battlefield studio says it wants to give itself more time to polish and refine Season 2. The decision has resulted in Season 1 getting an extension. It means players will now get a Battlefield 6 Season 1 extension update in the coming days. The update will add fresh content like new weekly challenges, a Bonus Path, and continuation of Season 1 Battle Pass.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 to Arrive in February
The official blog post reveals that Battlefield 6 Season 2 will now arrive on February 17. It is currently unknown what new maps and other content will be released as part of Season 2. The studio will share more details about Season 2 next month. It will also share a roadmap of what to expect from Battlefield 6 and REDSEC this year in the near future.
Battlefield 6 Season 1 Extension Update Release Date and Content Details
While players wait for Season 2, EA will release the Battlefield 6 Season 1 extension update on January 20. The update will bring free daily login rewards, several Double XP periods, a Portal Community Experiences showcase, and an additional Bonus Path. There will be new customization rewards, including a Weapons Package and a Soldier Skin, available through the Frostfire Bonus Path tiers. The newly added free rewards include a Vehicle Skin, Hardware XP Boost, and playercard customization items.
The good thing is Frostfire Bonus Path can be completed concurrently alongside the Battlefield 6 Season 1 Battle Pass. You will be able to unlock each Bonus Path Tier with 10 Bonus Path Points. A player will need a total of 110 Bonus Path Points to complete the path. However, Bonus Path Points will be available only through Weekly Challenges. There will not be special Bonus Challenges for this particular path.
The team will add more content through the update, including special Valentine’s Day rewards. It will reveal more details about these rewards closer to the release.
