Square Enix has officially confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Streamlined Progression settings will also be released for PlayStation 5 and PC versions. These super-easy mode settings were already confirmed for the game’s Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S versions during the announcement last week. These optional settings give players an opportunity to breeze through the game’s story and avoid difficult boss fights.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Streamlined Progression Mode Details
Streamlined Progression is a special mode that Square Enix debuted with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade last month. It will be available in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox from day one, i.e., June 3, 2026. The studio will release a dedicated update for PS5 and PC players to add these “cheat” mode settings.
The reason Streamlined Progression is referred to as “cheat mode” by many fans of the series is that it basically activates the God mode. Players can choose to dish out 9,999 damage with every single hit, keep all their gauges fully charged, and have unlimited HP and MP at all times. It also makes weapon ability acquisition significantly easier. In other words, this mode takes the hard work and grind out of the gameplay and makes everything a walk in the park.

The idea behind offering this mode is to give players, especially newcomers to the Final Fantasy world, more options and flexibility to play these games. They can choose what toggles to turn on based on their gameplay and lifestyle preferences. Trophy hunters are another group of players who can benefit from Streamlined Progression in Final Fantasy games. They can use the mode to unlock difficult-to-earn trophies and achievements without spending hours and hours.
The studio further confirmed Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players on PS5 will receive the lighting improvements that were previously released on the PC version. This is a change that will not affect the gameplay experience on a difficulty basis, but will make the game improve in terms of visual appeal.
Rebirth is the second game in the Final Fantasy 7 (1997) remake trilogy. It was released in 2024 and is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake from 2020. The studio is working on the third and final part of the trilogy, whose name has been confirmed but is yet to be revealed publicly. It is expected to arrive sometime in 2027.
