Is your girlfriend or wife pregnant, by any chance? If so, you might wanna do the math and ensure that the baby pops out by November 19th, 2026. The reason for that: it’s the one requirement made by a Norwegian firm so you can get Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) for free.

No, we kid you not: the electronics company named Komplett started a marketing campaign that will give participants a free GTA 6 copy, as long as said participant has a baby by the aforementioned date.

Bear in mind, we’re not talking “be pregnant” by then. Your little tyke will have to be out and about on that date. Not “around” that ballpark, not “in that week”. The day that, of course, matches GTA 6 release date.

Now, obviously, GTA 6 price has been a talking point — we even glossed over it recently: being arguably the most meaningful game release of 2026, the game has supposedly attained a $ 3 billion development budget and, according to several sources, may be the game that ushers in the $80 price tag for a launch date. That is presuming it doesn’t get to the hundreds of money bills.

The advertisement was seen and posted on Reddit, and it already has some pretty funny reactions — the very first reply reminds us, adult gamers, that you can either have time to care for your newborn or play GTA 6. Because adulting sucks and we’re no longer teenagers.

What was seemingly a joke, however, got official confirmation on Instagram — “official”, as in “from the firm itself”:

Marketing campaigns like this are not necessarily new, although they are rare: in 2011, in the lead up for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim release, Bethesda set up a competition that had a similar mechanic — have a baby by launch day, get stuff for free. Well, Eric and Megan Kellermeyer won that, going as far as naming their child “Dovahkiin” (meaning “Dragonborn” in Dragon-speak, and also the lead character’s name).

Granted, that was almost 15 years ago, there is a new Elder Scrolls game in development, and we’re pretty sure that the now teen Dovahkiin has one hell of a story to tell (especially considering that, due to so many re-releases, Skyrim is still played by a lot of people).

Look, far from us to encourage your irresponsible porking but, let’s just say February 14th is Valentine’s Day and, if there is a date that justifies unruly conception attempts, we’d say it is now — and you have a nice incentive to boot.

No word on which platform you’ll receive the game on, or how you’ll get to decide that, but since GTA 6 is coming for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, it behooves to expect some form of choice here.

Obviously, Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have nothing to do with it, so don’t expect them to chime in on this.
