Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, has officially denied rumors that the GTA 6 physical copy release will be delayed at launch. He made the statement in a conversation with Variety. A few other details about the GTA 6 launch and marketing were also shared during Take-Two’s Q3 2026 earnings release presentation. The good news is that the most anticipated video game of the year is on track to meet its launch date.

GTA 6 Physical Copy Will be Available on the Launch Day

A rumor last month claimed that Take-Two and Rockstar Games may decide to delay the GTA 6 physical launch to avoid leaks. It said the game’s physical disc release could get pushed back by a few weeks or even months until early 2027. It suggested that GTA 6 could be a digital-only release on consoles, at least for the first few weeks.

This is the reason Zelnick had to deny GTA 6 physical copy release delay rumors. When asked about such a possibility, he said, “That’s not the plan.” While this response may appear vague, the folks at IGN reached out to Take-Two for clarity, and it was confirmed that Zelnick had denied any sort of delay plans. This means if you are someone who prefers buying games on discs, GTA 6 physical copies will be available on the launch day.

GTA 6 Launch Marketing Campaign to Begin This Summer

In other related GTA 6 news, Take-Two has confirmed that GTA 6 is on the right track for its launch scheduled for November 19. This must be reassuring for fans who have already faced two delays. The studio has even confirmed plans to kick off the GTA 6 launch marketing campaign this summer.

GTA 6 is undoubtedly the most hyped video game release of the year. It is a title that everyone in the gaming community has their eyes on, even the rival studios, publishers, and developers. Take-Two’s net bookings for the previous quarter were $1.76 billion. It also revealed that the soon-to-be-predecessor title GTA 5 has sold over 225 million copies so far.
