Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) news are scarce as a hen’s teeth, which is why the gaming press tend to cling to any piece of information that might come out about the game — and we’re guilty of it, ourselves: according to Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, at least one song is confirmed for Rockstar Games’ next major launch title.
The song in question is “Doot Doot (6 7)” (play for full effect) and the statement was made by, well, Skrilla himself, who was a guest on the aforementioned podcast. You can watch the whole thing below:
“I’m waiting for GTA 6 to come out… ‘6 7’ is on there, too,” Skrilla told hosts and comedians Matt McCusker and Shane Gillis. “I’m going to be my own person on there, playing my own music”, he followed.
Now, “be my own person” can mean a number of things when it comes to GTA 6, songs present or not: two games ago, comedians Ricky Gervais and Katt Williams, for instance, were “their own people” literally, as they had digital versions and voice overs officially recorded for a mini game on Grand Theft Auto IV (2008).
However, it could also mean that Skrilla will just feature his viral rap piece in its complete form, and not some dumbed down or heavily censored bit of it, which is always better, honestly.
By the way, as songs go, GTA 6 has been confirmed to have, as always, both licensed music and original radio shows during its car trips. Rumors circling around have already mentioned the presence of the likes of Drake and DJ Khaled on the new game, but since Rockstar is Rockstar, no official comment about them — or Skrilla — has been made.
Either way, GTA 6 is expected to be released in May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
