Yeah, Half-Life 3 is making the rounds.
Again.
No, this is not a rehash of some old news — well, kinda: this time, Insider Gaming’s podcast, Insider Gaming Weekly, claims the longstanding meme of a game is really, really coming you guys, according to sources that have stated “Half-Life 3” as one of Steam Machine’s launch titles.
Given that the entire, three-piece Steam hardware (which constitutes the Steam Machine, the Steam Frame VR goggles and a new generation Steam Controller) is due to show up on the shelves somewhere in Q1 2026, this is one bold statement to make — a game that officially never existed not only suddenly existing, but existing at a date much, much closer than anticipated.
Bear in mind, the last mainline entry on the franchise was Half-Life: Alyx…in 2020.

The entire episode is just shy of two hours long, but they start talking about Half-Life 3 at around the 25 minute mark. They preface the whole thing by saying how every single journalist they’ve talked to has heard different, long past dates, chalking it up to Valve actually doing this to see who would report first and identify potential leaks.
Then they claim the game as a Steam Machine launch title, with the only hurdle to be decided on is the pricing — not because of Half-Life 3 itself, but Valve actually holding back that information due to the current, stratospheric rise in RAM prices (thank you, AI!).
Obviously, because Valve is Valve, they will not come forward on this with any official comment, and given that Half-Life 3 is something that has long been the object of rumors, this is yet another situation where fans will be on the “wait and see what happens” mode.
