The excruciatingly long wait for Marvel’s Wolverine announcement is finally over. Insomniac Games has shared the official Marvel’s Wolverine gameplay trailer alongside launch details at the State of Play presentation. The much-awaited PlayStation 5 exclusive title announcement was the showstopper of the event. Here is everything we know about the next Marvel superhero video game from Insomniac Games.
Marvel’s Wolverine Gameplay Trailer Shows Bloodbath is Coming
Marvel’s Wolverine gameplay trailer has offered us our first official glimpse at what to expect from the Berserker. It showcases Logan using his metal claws in fierce combats and violent rage in the search for answers to his past. He would have to tear apart and shred through every obstacle in his path to complete the mission at hand. Liam McIntyre, an Australian actor is portraying the role of the protagonist in the game.
Wolverine can be seen donning his signature Yellow suit as he performs various actions, rides a motorcycle, and, of course, rips apart enemies. The trailer also features other notable characters like Mystique and Omega Red. Wolverine’s journey will take him to different exotic locations, including the island nation of Madripoor, the frosted wilderness of Canada, and the narrow city streets of Tokyo.
Here is what the studio has to say about its take on Wolverine,
We’re breaking new ground with Wolverine, yes, but our penchant for telling stories about heroes overcoming colossal odds is as strong as ever. We’re eager to explore Logan’s story with you and tap into his signature spin on heroism, which is much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac.
Marvel’s Wolverine PlayStation 5 Launch Date
Insomniac Games has confirmed Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026. The title will be exclusive to the console, at least for the first one or two years. Other details about the game are unknown. The studio has plans to share more information in the spring of 2026.

We have already seen Insomniac Games’ work on Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. All three games did justice to the character of Spider-Man and his buddy Miles Morales. These titles received raving reviews from both critics and players alike.
The game was first announced way back in 2021, and Insomniac Games even had to face a massive cyberattack in 2023 that leaked an early gameplay build. But if the studio’s track record is anything to go by, Wolverine fans should be in for a treat when it launches next year.
