Sony just confirmed which three new games will grace PlayStation Plus in August, and the offers are nothing to scoff at.
Just like the Japanese giant does every beginning of the month, the subscription platform will be updated with three new games for free, made available to any and all of its subscribers, across all PlayStation Plus membership plans.
And for the eighth month of the year, the three titles do promise a lot of fun times, with one major highlight—Lies of P— taking the center of the stage. Check you the full list below:

PlayStation Plus Games for August, 2025
- Lies of P
- Day Z
- My Hero One’s Justice 2
- July’s Last Call: which PlayStation Plus games can you grab before they go away

Lies of P (PS5/PS4)
In another wink for the soulslike fans out there, PlayStation Plus August games include Lies of P, Round 8 Studio’s take on the story of Pinocchio, with some very unsettling twists. The game made hundreds of headlines when it came out in 2023, receiving so much praise it even won many awards, both in The Game Awards and Game Developers Conference, in categories pertaining to its solid narrative.
Day Z (PS4)
Yet another game well recognized by its accolades, DayZ is the classic post-apocalyptic zombie shooter, this time in online version and up to 60 players at a time. In a mix of action and strategy, players must scavenge a ravaged (fictional) Soviet city, looking for items and resources, while killing or avoiding the plague of “Infected”. Furthermore, the advent of its MMO nature also forces you to choose between cooperating with other players—or killing them.
My Hero One’s Justice 2 (PS4)
Moving right along, August’s free PS Plus games will include My Hero One Justice 2, the sequel to 2018’s game of the same name (sans the “2”, evidently). As fighting games go, you would be engaged by this licensed anime title based on My Hero Academia, and publisher Bandai Namco has a nice pedigree when it comes to anime-based games and the fighting genre as a whole.
July’s Last Call: which PlayStation Plus games can you grab before they go away
It is worth nothing that all three games coming to PlayStation Plus this August will be available on the 5th, which means that, before that, you’ll still be able to grab July’s offerings. They are listed below:
- Diablo IV (PS5/PS4)
- The King of Fighters XV (PS5/PS4)
- Jusant (PS5)

Bear in mind: while freely distributed within the PlayStation Plus platform, you still need to subscribe to download these games—and that, we’re afraid, is a paid proposition: PS Plus membership plans start at $9.99. Hey, if you’re feeling practical, you can always purchase 1-year gift cards on digital storefronts like Amazon: they like to run some special sales from time to time.
