Is this a Dead Island 3 teaser?

Possible Dead Island 3 teaser?

Dead Island turned 14 recently and developer Dambuster Studios celebrated the milestone with what seems to be a teaser for a third game, which we’ll tentatively refer to as “Dead Island 3” for now.

The company did not outright say they’re working on a new title within the zombie-filled franchise, mind you, but as IGN points out, they did not shy from making the rumor mills turn with a celebratory update on the brand’s 14th anniversary on Steam, stating “and the outbreak is far from over.

The message doesn’t stop there, but everything that comes before it also points to a new entry in the series. The full update reads:

“It’s been 14 years since Dead Island first splattered onto the scene, stranding players in the blood-soaked paradise of Banoi.
Since then, the zompocalypse has crawled from tropical shores to the sun-drenched chaos of HELL-A in Dead Island 2, where over 20 million Slayers have left nothing but carnage behind.
This isn’t the final cut though. Dambuster Studios are already carving out what comes next.
For now, the details stay under wraps, the outbreak is far from over…”

If Dead Island 3 is real, when is the release date?

Like we said, this is a rumor: we don’t even know if this is real or not. However, Dambuster Studios words seem pretty indicative there is something coming, and given the anniversary context, a full sequel is not too far-fetched to think of.

It is worth remembering that the game’s previous entry, Dead Island 2, came around in April 2023, after about eight years between its announcement, a whole bunch of delays, and its actual launch. Then, two expansions came out from that and, finally, a pretty cool Ultimate Edition was also released last year.

If this is indeed Dead Island 3, the travel card image above indicates that the game might be set somewhere other than Los Angeles. While it’s easy to imagine Las Vegas, Nevada as a probable destination (we even had a crappy zombie movie there from Netflix), Reno is also a good candidate.

However, as of now, any speculation will most likely be wrong since, again, “Dead Island 3” is not confirmed and Dambuster Studios didn’t really say anything very consistent to go on.

And as rumors go, we already have a big one coming up sooner

Anyways, shooting zombies in the face is always fun, so one would be forgiven for feeling hopeful.
