Silent Hill: Townfall details are coming, as Japanese publisher Konami has confirmed a new stream event for Thursday, February 12 — yes, the same date of the mega-sized, 60-minute State of Play event from PlayStation: in fact, Konami’s thing starts right after Sony’s thing.
The event is being referred to as “Silent Hill Transmission” and it will air at 4:00 pm PT / 7:00 pm ET.
It is worth noting that this is not a first for Konami, as the company pulled the same stunt last year: right after Sony’s State of Play, the Silent Hill maker introduced us to Silent Hill f, which went on to garner very favorable reviews — including our own, in fact.
What is Silent Hill: Townfall and what will the Silent Hill Transmission show the audience
Despite having Konami signing off on it, most of the heavy lifting in Silent Hill: Downfall is being done by two, very non-Konami companies — those being Screen Burn Interactive and Annapurna Interactive, the latter being the same one that made Stray.
When it comes to details like visuals and gameplay, or even the plot’s outline, well, that’s anybody’s guess for at least until Thursday, when Konami is expected to use the Silent Hill Transmission to unveil that type of information.
Silent Hill: Townfall was originally announced way back in 2022’s second halt, so we’re almost on the 4-year mark without having any type of news about it. This has given people hope, as the timing — as well as Silent Hill f’s successful performance on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series — gives ample room to think that Konami will come out guns blazing with it.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see and hope.
