It’s been a while since Ubisoft releases its online shooter The Division, which is set in the Tom Clancy universe (that also includes brands like Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon), but only now the game has made its way to the PlayStation 5 — and it comes with a new feature as a way of apologizing for the delay, maybe.

You see, The Division is now playable on Sony’s current platform…in 60 frames per second (fps) format. This is the first game of a franchise that already boasts a plethora of expansions and a sequel (that has its own expansions too), so bear in mind this is an old game we’re talking about as this originally came out in 2016.

Still, the fan community seems pleased about the news, with a bunch of replies over the publisher’s announcement on X/Twitter bringing a lot of positive feedback.

Is The Division any different on PS5?

Aside from looking far smoother and cooler due to the fps increase, there’s no reason to believe that this The Division PS5 release is any different from versions on PS4, Xbox or PC. In fact, I couldn’t find any info on this edition being a complete one with all expansions and DLCs and whatnot included.

I tried accessing the game’s page on my personal PlayStation Store account and the game is still listed at full price on PlayStation 4 (not 5), but this particular account is set to Brazil, which is my home country, so I can’t say for sure if there’s some delay on the game’s release for the southern hemisphere.

Oh, yeah. Being an online game does not stop Ubisoft from charging regular prices on it — sorry, no free to play to speak of here.

Still, if you’re one of those visual freaks that wanna extract the ultimate visual drop for your experience, The Division might be your cup of tea, as the urban warfare setting gives it a lot of graphical stuff to upgrade on this new, 60fps looking world.
