Calm down, people: The Duskbloods is still on track for its planned 2026 release. Although not committing to a final date, FromSoftware has confirmed the game is coming out this year, exclusively on the Switch 2.
The confirmation comes via Kadokawa Group — FromSoftware’s co-main shareholder — which released its latest financial report, putting on paper the studio’s unchanged plans on releasing the game this year.
Gone AWOL since its announcement in April, 2025, The Duskbloods is an online PvE/PvP game in a dark setting fantasy, being hailed as an action RPG that supports up to eight players, who take the mantle of Bloodsworns — vampire-like warriors with different sets of powerful, superhuman abilities.
And because we haven’t heard from the game in a minute — and since it is a Switch 2 exclusive — the game was expected to make an appearance in the latest Nintendo Direct stream event last week. When that didn’t happen, the community feared for the worst, thinking a delay took place.
Well, no particular news on the game itself, but also a bit of good news for fans, anyway. And that’s not the only one, because…
While The Duskbloods remains unchanged, so does Elden Ring Tarnished Edition
Another game that wasn’t updated in a while was Elden Ring Tarnished Edition. As a special version of the original Elden Ring tailored for the Nintendo Switch 2 experience, the game was announced a while back but, unlike The Duskbloods, had its latest update a little over three months ago.
That update sucked, as it turned out it was a confirmation of its delay towards 2026 (it was supposed to come out in late 2025). This, according to several sources, is because the build they had at that time was running poorly on a Switch 2 — which is kind of a problem when the game is “made exclusively for the Switch 2”, I assume.
Since then, the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition has also stepped away from the spotlight until today, since Kadokawa also mentions it coming out in 2026.
This edition, by the way, brings the full base game, the Shadows of the Erdtree expansion, four new armor sets for your mount and some other tidbits.
