Ever since Rockstar dropped that first GTA 6 trailer back in December 2023, the world’s been on fast-forward – except for the game’s release date. While Lucia and Jason are still stuck in those cutscenes, we’ve somehow lived through an entire era.
Here’s a list of things we actually got after the trailer… and still before the game.
At This Point We’re Going to Get GTA7 Teasers Before GTA6

#1: A United States President was Almost Assassinated on Live Television!
On July 13, 2024, former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania. Set aside your Political beliefs aside for a moment — that’s INSANE. A gunman opened fire, grazing his ear and injuring others as well as killing one man in the crowd before law enforcement intervened. The whole situation is crazy and unfortunate.

#2: The Entire Barbenheimer Phenomenon Came and Went
Two movies. Same day. One pink, one atomic nukes. The cultural event of 2023—Barbie and Oppenheimer – lit up the box office, broke the internet, and had grown adults dressing like glitter bombs and existential dread at the same time.
We watched Barbie discover her humanity and Oppenheimer destroy his… but we still haven’t seen Lucia leave the damn car.

#3: We Got a Whole Live-Action Zelda Movie Announcement
I’m not usually a fan of movie or TV show adaptations of games. That being said, Nintendo – famous for moving at the speed of molasses – came outta nowhere and announced a live-action Legend of Zelda movie. After decades of saying “nah,” they finally said “fine,” and now Link’s on his way to Hollywood.
Meanwhile, Rockstar’s still milking a six-second clip of Lucia robbing a gas station.

#4: AI Chatbots Took Over the Internet
Your new best friend. You don’t even rizz over the phone for that hottie you’ve been messaging – AI’s got your back! Since that GTA 6 trailer dropped, AI chatbots popped off – and I’m not going to sit here and pretend they aren’t extremely helpful. However, at what point does technology reach that point of no return? I’m sure we’ve already surpassed that…
I always think of the scene in Jurassic Park when Jeff Goldblum’s character essentially states “Just because you could, doesn’t mean that you should”. AI is here as a mainstay now and it’s impossible to ignore it. It’s nuts. One minute AI was sci-fi talk, next thing you know, your toaster’s probably judging your snack choices. Wild times, fam.

#5: Self-Driving Cars Are Everywhere Now (Including Those Cybertrucks That Look Like They Came From Mars)
Electric cars are cool and all, but sometimes I miss that smell of good old-fashioned exhaust—call me crazy, but it’s part of the vibe. Yes, I know you aren’t supposed to huff gas but why do they have to make it smell so good?! Anyway – Everywhere you look its a Tesla parade. Now your car can literally drive you home after those late-night bar runs—no more trying to text your friend to come pick you up or risking a “I’m totally fine, I swear” stunt behind the wheel. Seriously, that’s not cool – don’t do that.

#6: Marijuana – It’s Everywhere
Weed basically went from “that thing people whispered about” to “yeah, you can find it almost everywhere.” You can’t walk down the street without smelling it now. Dispensaries popping up like Starbucks, and suddenly it’s not just a thing—it’s the thing.
You can LITERALLY have pot delivered to your doorsteps like a pizza or go to a drive-thru like you’re getting a Baconator from Wendy’s. What timeline is this that we’re living in?!

#7 Mental Health Went From Taboo to Talked About
The world’s been a mess since that GTA 6 trailer dropped — stress, chaos, you name it. Life’s hard sometimes, no doubt. But here’s the bright side: people are finally taking mental health seriously. Therapy, self-care, real conversations — it’s all becoming normal, not some secret nobody talks about.
That shift? That’s a win for all of us. Maybe the biggest one since… well, since Rockstar teased us with that trailer.

Maybe the game will continue to be delayed to perpetuate this meme?
The world’s been spinning wild since Rockstar dropped that GTA 6 trailer—crazy moments, huge changes, all of it happening while we’re still waiting to hit “start” on the next big adventure. Life’s thrown us some curveballs, but it’s also shown us how strong we can be.
When GTA 6 finally drops, it won’t just be another game — it’ll be a celebration of all the moments, big and small, that got us here. Until then, we keep living, learning, and maybe laughing at how wild the ride’s been so far.
