In a surprising announcement, Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr have released Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players. The Definitive Edition is a remastered version of Tomb Raider (2013), which was a reboot of the series and the first game in the famous Survivor trilogy. However, this edition is more than just a visual upgrade, as it also features a lot of content for players to engage in.

The official announcement reveals that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition includes all previously available DLCs and six bonus outfits for Lara Croft. It also features eight online multiplayer maps and four multiplayer characters. The online multiplayer mode will let players engage in 8-player matches where they can team up with or fight against fellow survivors.
The special edition also has bonus digital content in the form of the Dark Horse comic Tomb Raider: The Beginning, the mini-art book Tomb Raider: The Art of Survival, and the Final Hours of Tomb Raider developer video series. The game weighs approximately 29.3GB on the Nintendo Switch and 27.3GB on the Nintendo Switch 2. It supports handheld, tabletop, and TV modes.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is priced at $19.99 for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. However, the good thing is that there are multiple discounts that you can take advantage of on the Nintendo eShop. The first one is Launch Discount, where the game is currently available for $17.99 (10% off) until November 24.
If you happen to own Tomb Raider I-III Remastered or Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered on Nintendo, you can get an additional 10% off for each of them.
