Hey, remember when 2024’s The Game Awards ceremony had a new Turok game — called “Turok Origins” — announced? Well, it’s been almost a year since that happened and very little in the way of news came out about it afterwards: gameplay tidbits and multiplayer shenanigans talked about at Gamescom 2025, but that’s it.
Seriously, I asked our internal group on WhatsApp: literally no one remembered that Florida’s Saber Interactive was working on this. It was almost an “out of sight, out of mind” scenario.
Well, it seems the game is ready to be unforgotten, since a new update on a developer’s LinkedIn profile hints at a 2026 release for Turok Origins.
According to a now edited out information on Saber Interactive Spain’s Javi Bermejo, Turok Origins is “forthcoming 2026”. Given that “forthcoming” is not necessarily a on-the-nose release window, we’re guessing that this contemplates the second half of next year (the team was on the lookout for an UI artist just a few months ago, and if you know your gamedev slang, “UI” (user interface) is a pretty early demand to solve in a game development cycle.
Not that this is too related to Mr. Bermejo himself — his job role is listed as “Sound Designer” at Saber Interactive Spain. The company never stated which of its branches is handling the Turok Origins project development, but given the size and globalization of the industry, it wouldn’t be too surprising if Europe is taking care of this.
The last Turok game came out in 2015 — the original game’s (Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, from Nintendo64) remaster, to be precise. This project got subsequent releases on all other platforms on several dates, including a PS5 arrival earlier this year. And it did pretty well, all things considered.

Turok Origins will change one key aspect of the franchise: unlike its predecessors, the new game will be a third-person shooter (not first). Other than that, it should follow the other games’ same schematic: a shooting game centralized on Native American thematics, where you portray the titular tribesman in a war against…dinossaurs — and aliens, for this specific case.
As for the multiplayer aspect, it will feature a cooperative mode, but no word on anything PvP. Oh, and the game will come out for PC (Windows), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
As always, this is just a rumor. Saber Interactive probably put the clamps on its employee’s LinkedIn page so the information is no longer there, but other than that, the company hasn’t come forward with any confirmation or denial. So, you know…believe it if you will, but keep this on the back foot in case it doesn’t pan out.
