Here’s every game coming out in July and which ones you should pay attention to

game coming out in july

Nearly 60. This is the average number of games coming out in July, 2025. Yes, we know: even with the tough-pill-to-swallow cancellations we had recently, there are still a good amount of titles expected to come out this month, across all platforms.

And as we enter the seventh month of the year (well, we’re already there, but you get the idea), that particular number may be too much even for us to play, review, write and talk about—and we do this for a living, imagine the average consumer who has only so much free time to play.

So, in order to accommodate your schedule (and, truthfully, our own), we chose the one game coming out in July for each category. Make sure to let us know in the comments which one you’re most looking forward to:

Every game coming out in July: what are you gonna play this month?

Multiplatform

System Shock 2, Tales of the Shire and Ninja Gaiden would easily be the most anticipated games in this category…if Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 wasn’t a thing: the classic skater’s remake. I’ll admit I’m not “one with the sports”, but the nostalgia that its predecessor brought me, alongside the new stuff that this game is promising to bring, actually got me curious.

PlayStation

I’ll be honest, both games don’t really pique my interest in the slightest. I did play a little bit of Firmament when it came out on PC, originally, a couple of years ago, and as first-person puzzles go, it was alright. But not as “alright” as “I java to get this on console RIGHT NOW” alright.

Still, it might be a good option when it inevitably pops up on your PS Plus subscription update some time from now.

  • Firmament | Cyan Worlds Inc. | PS5, PS4 | July 2
  • Daisenryaku SSB | SystemSoft | July 17

Xbox

No exclusives coming out solely on Xbox platforms in July. Not that we would know for sure, but given the company’s digital shift towards investing in Game Pass and software (and less on hardware sales (did you see their latest report?), this will likely be more and more common. Sorry, Microsoft stans: Bilawal swears he doesn’t care, but he stated “PlayStation is eating dirt” when I asked, so I’m preeeeetty sure he’s salty inside about this, too.

Nintendo

Wild Hearts S was a pretty solid fun time when it came out in 2023, and the Switch 2 version holds promise of pushing Nintendo’s new hybrid console, what with its hi-def visuals and all. However…Donkey Kong Bananza really makes me wish July 17th gets here soon enough: Nintendo’s first party games usually are the ones tailored to a near-perfect experience on Switch, so I’ll be looking out for this one mostly.

  • Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley / Skytree Village | Natsume | July 3
  • Donkey Kong Bananza | Nintendo | July 17
  • The Wandering Village | Stray Fawn Studio | Stray Fawn Studio | July 17
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV | Nintendo | July 24
  • Wild Hearts S | Omega Force | July 25

PC

Gaucho and the Grassland is a game coming out in July

Mycopunk culd easily be a main pick for me this month—I am a sucker for everything Devolver Digital, as it happens. But then I saw Gaucho and the Grassland and, well, pardon me for being a patriot, but there is something about games made in Brazil that just draws me to try them first.

  • Every Day We Fight | Signal Space Lab | Hooded Horse | July 10
  • Mycopunk | Pigeons at Play | Devolver Digital | July 10
  • Brickadia | Brickadia, LLC | July 11
  • Arashi Gaiden | Statera Studio, Wired Dreams Studio | Nuntius Games, Vsoo Games | July 14
  • Dawn Apart | Industrial Technology and Witchcraft | Astra Logical | July 14

  • Total Chaos | Apogee Entertainment | July 24

Final thoughts: shut up and take my money!

Yup, we all got our hands full. Despite seeing very little first-party stuff from PlayStation (and nothing from Microsoft, although the reasons are pretty obvious at this point), we are pretty much covered on the multiplatform front. That, and the PC gang is always chock-full of new stuff year-round thanks to Steam.

Having said that, it’s time to hear from you: which game coming out in July are you gonna choose to play this month? Let us know in the comments!
