Microsoft is reportedly contemplating another revamp of its Xbox Game Pass tiers. Two separate reports, one from The Verge and later corroborated by Windows Central, have claimed PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Premium tiers could merge in the future. Microsoft is further reported to be considering a few more Xbox-related changes, including a free Xbox Cloud Gaming plan. Here is everything we know about these rumors so far.

Xbox Game Pass Tiers Could Merge and Expand to Offer More Third-Party Service Bundles

The last time Xbox Game Pass tiers were overhauled was about three months ago. The team made changes to the names and offerings, and also increased prices. Xbox Game Pass Premium offers over 200 PC and console games along with Xbox Cloud Gaming. It does not offer day-one releases for new first-party titles, but those games are added within one year. In comparison, the PC Game Pass library includes only PC games, and there is no cloud gaming. It does offer EA Play integration and first-party day-one releases. The two plans are priced at $14.99 per month and $16.49 per month, respectively.

The report claims Microsoft is looking to merge these two Xbox Game Pass plans into a single tier. It is unknown what features will be offered in that new tier and how much it will cost. The team is also said to be considering bundling more third-party services with Xbox Game Pass. This should make the subscription service more value-for-money for existing subscribers and attract new ones. Xbox Cloud Gaming is expected to receive a free plan, but it will not be a new Xbox Game Pass tier.

However, it is important to note that Xbox Game Pass is unlikely to undergo any major changes this year. All these plans are currently said to be in very early stages of consideration. This means it will take time before any of these rumored changes become a reality. In the meantime, you should have a look at the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month.
