If you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to jump into the perfect bandwagon in gaming, let it be know that there’s a Yakuza Steam sale taking place right now. The entire page is live on Valve’s PC gaming store and boy do those prices look attractive!

For those not in the loop, the Yakuza games were all published by SEGA, putting the player in the shoes of several protagonists, all belonging into the Japanese organized crime world in a third-person, action/RPG hybrid with excellent writing, beautiful drama storytelling and massive gameplay options.

And now they’re cheaper as they’ve ever been — with a few caveats, as not every game in the franchise is part of the Yakuza Steam sale. See the full list below:

Sales like these often bring an opportunity for new players to dive into old franchises without hurting their pockets, and no better example than Yakuza highlights this.

Reason being: the games’ launch are not chronological, with contemporary releases taking place earlier or after the original, 2006 title, story-wise.

So if you’re a first-timer on the Yakuza games, we strongly recommend you follow the now available chronological, canonical order, which we conveniently listed below:

Title Sale Price (USD) Original Price (USD)
Yakuza 0 $11 $20
Yakuza Kiwami $11 $20
Yakuza Kiwami 2 $11 $20
Yakuza 4 Remastered $11 $20
Yakuza Complete Series Bundle (0-6) $77 $140
Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth $21 $70

The keen-eyed reader will most likely notice the absence of a “Yakuza 3” title and, well, SEGA did not offer a reason for it, really. The game does have a PC port but for some reason, it’s not included. Still, even at full price, it can be bought separately for the same twenty bucks a pop just like the other games (a single Steam gift card would take care of this, honestly).

Other notable absence is Yakuza Dead Souls, a zombie spin-off that was never ported to PC and, at least canonically speaking, does not take part in the mainline story, so you won’t miss much there (but it is a cool game, nonetheless, so if you can, do give it a chance).

Other than that, the entire franchise is fair game — including Yakuza 0 which, to me, is the best Yakuza game in the series. Also, the Judgement offshoot, which is set in the same universe, albeit years apart and with another character and only a few easter eggs and nods to the original brand here and there, are included, which is always a bonus.

Anyway, the page is up for you to grab all the Yakuza games available.
