Ghost of Yotei is a spectacular game with incredible graphics, an amazing story, and spectacular gameplay elements. It’s a fun action-adventure gaming experience that you can dedicate several hours to.
The main story takes between 25 and 30 hours to complete, whereas a complete playthrough could take up to 60-70 hours. However, when that’s all done, what’s next? A game like that always leaves you wanting more after that initial satisfaction you get from completing it. Luckily, we have other games with cinematic combat, sharp swords, and exploration that Ghost of Yotei does so well. If you’re looking for more of that GOY feel, check out these equally great games.
1. Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes you back to ancient Japan, where you do combat with katanas, hidachis, kunais, and other such fun weapons. The graphics, color, and gameplay closely mirror those of Ghost of Yotei. ACS offers that cinematic gameplay feel. With a similar time period, levels of graphics, and similar gameplay elements, going from Ghost of Yotei to Assassin’s Creed Shadows or vice versa will feel like a natural progression.
2. Rise of the Ronin

Rise of the Ronin is an excellent period piece set in a similar era to Yotei. The game offers phenomenal combat, seemingly endless activities on the map, and memorable missions that make up a truly compelling story. It has all the elements to give you that Ghost of Yotei feel, with a caveat: a co-op mode. Essentially, you get excellent combat and an incredible story wrapped together in an ancient Japan box. Rise of the Ronin comes with a multiplayer mode, meaning you can enjoy the game with your friends. Rise of Ronin is the gift that keeps on giving.
3. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Shadows: Die Twice takes the ancient Japan setting of Ghost of Yotei and adds a Soulslike feel to it. Think Ghost of Yotei meets Bloodborne. The game offers satisfying battles and rewards precision, timing, and skill. You face off against deadly samurai, monstrous foes, and powerful bosses in epic battles that test your skill and strategy. The game is filled with stunning visuals, a rich world, and cinematic combat sequences that mirror Ghost of Yotei. Black Myth: Wukong takes you on a journey through the incredible world of Chinese mythology. You play as the legendary Monkey King and navigate your way through a world filled with gods, demons, and all sorts of mystical creatures. In terms of gameplay, there aren’t a lot of similarities between Ghost of Yotei and Black Myth: Wukong, with the latter featuring combat with a staff and magic-heavy combat rather than the range of bladed weapons.
However, these two games share similarities in terms of breathtaking visuals, vibrant landscapes, and richly detailed environments. Exploring Black Myth: Wukong will absolutely take your breath away. If you love the beautiful landscapes and sceneries of Ghost of Yotei, you will appreciate Black Myth: Wukong.
5. Trek To Yomi

If Ghost of Yotei makes you feel like you’re playing a movie, Trek to Yomi will give you that feeling tenfold. Trek to Yomi pulls you into a beautifully stylized version of feudal Japan. The game is rendered entirely in a striking black and white color that mirrors classic samurai films.
Every duel feels deliberate and cinematic, enhanced by the game’s haunting soundtrack and meticulous visual design. Just like Ghost of Yotei, Trek to Yomi delivers an immersive, story-driven experience that captures the spirit and atmosphere of ancient Japan. One downside is that the game has a particularly simplistic combat system, but if you don’t mind that, and you’re in the market for a cinematic samurai-era game, Trek to Yomi is a natural progression from Ghost of Yotei.
6. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 drops you into the gritty realism of 15th-century Bohemia, continuing the journey of Henry of Skalitz as he rises from humble blacksmith’s son to a key figure in a war-torn land. With its massive open world, historically accurate combat and weapons, and the sense of weight in every decision and swing of the sword, KCD2 evokes the same commitment to immersion and authenticity that you get out of Ghost of Yotei. Both titles deliver rich, character-driven stories, powerful visuals, and an atmosphere where your actions matter.
7. Nioh 2

Nioh 2 plunges you into the chaos of Japan’s Sengoku period, blending intense samurai combat with supernatural elements drawn from rich Japanese mythology. As a half-human, half-yokai warrior, you’ll master a vast array of weapons, from katanas to odachis, and unleash devastating yokai abilities in fast-paced, skill-driven battles. The game’s stunning visuals, detailed environments, and cinematic combat sequences capture the same tone and atmosphere that define Ghost of Yotei, offering a similarly immersive experience.
