It’s almost “All Hallows Eve”, people, and as luck would have it, some new Halloween games are coming, with studios taking part on the special date’s timing to unveil their little projects on the “scary games” part of the industry.

In 2025, in fact, there has been some cool stuff either coming out soon or at the very least being announced in great fashion, so we at PlayRatedGames chose four of the new stuff that’s coming out this season.

Read on below as you wade through our selection!

New Halloween Games announced: which one got you jump-scared?

The Day I Will Die

Lost Lighthouse, a new development studio, has officially announced its first game — a first person horror called The Day I Will Die, coming soon to PC. Announced just in time for this spooky games season, this title places players in Little Red Valley, a seemingly quaint mountain town that has been swallowed by an endless mist and cut off from the world.

To quote the studios’ own words:

“In this remote mountain valley, cut off from the world and swallowed by endless mist, time loops without end. In the hidden corners, you recognize places from your childhood — forest trails, stone bridges. They awaken memories: old dreams, past fears, unfulfilled ambitions. Yet with them stirs something darker — beings born from pop culture, urban legends, and horror stories of the late ’70s and early ’80s, now standing before you as real threats.”

Sounds promising, especially the “endless time loops” part: perhaps this is a gameplay feature that will make you replay scary sections under different conditions anytime? Well, we can only speculate.

The Day I Will Die is currently “wishlistable” on Steam, with a 2026 release window, although no detailed date is mentioned.

State of Survival x Silent Hill Crossover

One thing that is closer to coming out, however, is zombie strategy fan favorite State of Survival’s new content, which will bring a crossover event with Konami’s Silent Hill universe. In this piece, which will run from October 29th to December 10, FunPlus’ title puts players in the skin of Heather Mason, accessing new story missions, solo boss fights and new, terrifying mini-games centered around Silent Hill elements, such as Pyramid Head, zombie nurses and…lots of fog, apparently.

It is worth noting that State of Survival is no stranger to crossover events, having worked with some heavyweight franchises in the past, including the Silent Hill main competitor and horror-laden Resident Evil franchise, as well as IO Interactive’s Hitman.

The State of Survival x Silent Hill crossover will be made available for iOS and Android users, also contemplating PC players too.

Ghoul’s Saloon

On a less serious but equally interesting note, Ghoul’s Saloon will probably fit the bill: developed by Demolish Games, this is an over-the-top PvE first person shooter with a fairly unique take on the zombie genre: the titular commercial establishment is managed by you, while the “Ghoul’s” part refers to your clientele. Because “zombies” were not enough, so the devs seemingly felt inclined to create drunken zombies, eh, pardner?

Basically, the goal is to keep your skin-decayed patrons happy while gathering resources, upgrading your entertainment/liquor options while fending off the most aggressive, animalistic variant of monsters, which will apparently attack in unpredictable waves just to keep you in your toes.ooking for something a little less serious but equally thrilling? Say ‘howdy’ to the undead in Ghoul’s Saloon, an over-the-top PvE co-op-enabled first-person shooter announced for PC. Developed by Demolish Games and published by Quest Craft, this game puts you in charge of the titular Ghoul Saloon in the Old West during the apocalypse.

As a still-in-development title, Ghoul’s Saloon also has a 2026 release window noted on Steam, where you can already put it on your wishlist for future releases.

Anchor

Ok, an underwater resource management type of game doesn’t exactly scream “terror”, but we all fell for that trap when we first played Subnautica without checking the proper ratings first. And while not explicitly a horror title, Anchor offers a deep sense of dread and danger in an unfamiliar environment, making it a compelling entry among the the Halloween games season’s announcements.

Developed by Fearem, Anchor is set after a nuclear holocaust forced humanity beneath the waves. You play as a genetically engineered survivor in ‘The Anchor,’ a carefully modified region designed to sustain new aquatic life. As a persistent open world game, Anchor will force you to explore and gather resources in sessions that can go up to 150 players per server — all of which you can’t be sure if they wanna build something together or flat out invade or destroy your stuff.

And that’s before touching the topic of marine life threatening you at every aquatic turn you take: saw something shiny that might be useful for your base? Cool, too bad that gigantic monster of a shark saw it to — now go get’em.

This one is also available for wishlisting on Steam, although it’ll probably come out at a later date than the previous entries, since it doesn’t even have a “2026” expected release noted on the page.

Now, for playing all of these games, you’ll need a PC whose specs are solid enough to run them. Lucky for you, we have a Deals page and this Amazon recommendation for you to upgrade your gear!
