AdHoc Studio’s widely popular superhero workplace comedy game, Dispatch, is now available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, but not in the way you would expect. The game is heavily censored on the Nintendo Switch platform, and there is no way to disable the censorship. It means you will not be able to play the game in its true form, i.e., with explicit scenes and audio. This unexpected move has left many players confused and disappointed, but the studio has offered an explanation.

Dispatch’s Nintendo Switch Censorship is Due to Platform Guidelines

Dispatch has various scenes where superheroes are partially or fully naked, including their full anatomy. The game also has sex scenes with audio related to sexual pleasure. However, players are free to choose if they want to see or censor these scenes using an in-game setting toggle. This particular setting is missing on the Dispatch Nintendo Switch version. All explicit scenes and audio are censored by default.

In an official statement shared with Eurogamer, AdHoc Studio has revealed that it had to censor content to meet Nintendo’s platform guidelines. It also added that censorship will not affect the game’s overall gameplay or narrative experience.

Here is the complete statement,

“Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually. We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms, but the core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical to the original release.”

The statement makes one thing very clear. If you had plans to play Dispatch on Nintendo Switch, you will have no choice but to play it with censorship. Your only way to get the full, true experience of the game is to play it on some other platform.

For those who are unfamiliar, Dispatch is a workplace comedy featuring superheroes. You play as Robert Robertson III, a former superhero, who has to take up the role of a dispatcher for other superheroes. The game’s story is spread across eight episodes, and each episode lasts for about an hour. The studio released two episodes per week starting October 22, 2025. The game has received positive responses from players as well as critics.
