Elden Ring Nightrein is on the cusp of getting new DLC content, apparently. Well, not in the sense of something getting launched, mind you, but a possible green light to the idea of making downloadable content for the game, eventually.
The news comes from publisher FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa Corporation, who recently put out an earnings report celebrating the success of Elden Ring Nightreign, while entertaining the notion of releasing DLC for the game.
Now, it’s not like the game is without any DLC to speak of: ever since its launch in May, Elden Ring Nightreign has seen its share of downloadable content in the form of cosmetic upgrades, bug fixes and several quality-of-life enhancements — even a new, Duo Expeditions mode that helps balancing the overall gameplay.
This time, however, it seems the company is referring to a full on, majorly written, new bosses (mandatory and optional) and a proper plot update that will enlarge gaming hours by the dozen, or so we speculate.

Elden Ring Nightreign DLC is seemingly already in development via FromSoftware
News about an Elden Ring Nightreign DLC is, well, not “news” per se: pretty much everyone involved with the game — developers, publishers, financial executives — have entertained the idea one way or another in the past.
And given the fact that the main Elden Ring game is getting a “Tarnished Ediiton” that includes its own Shadows of the Erdtree main DLC (and a plethora of other freebies) for Switch 2 sometime in 2026, it behooves to think that Nightreign is also getting some post-launch work done.
By the new report, however, not only the Elden Ring Nightreign DLC is the real deal, it may be even already in the works. While no details were given, it seems FromSoftware is already going hard at its development, aiming for an end-of-fiscal-year release, which, in layman’s terms, translates to sometime between March and April, 2026.
Given the success that Nightreign has attained, we can only hope all of this is confirmed further down the line…
