Final Fantasy XIV Online is bringing back one of its oldest crossover events once again with the return of The Maiden’s Rhapsody. The limited-time collaboration event connects the world of Final Fantasy XIV with Final Fantasy XI, letting players experience a short story questline featuring Iroha, one of Vana’diel’s heroes.

Originally introduced years ago, the event has become a recurring favorite among players thanks to its unique armor rewards, nostalgic references, and crossover story. If you missed previous runs, May 2026 is another opportunity to grab the event-exclusive cosmetics before they disappear again.

Here’s everything you need to know about The Maiden’s Rhapsody event in FFXIV.

What is the Maiden’s Rhapsody Event?

The Maiden’s Rhapsody is a crossover collaboration event between Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XI. The storyline follows Iroha, a mysterious warrior from Vana’diel who somehow arrives in Eorzea with fragmented memories.

Players team up with her through a short questline that explores the connection between both worlds while uncovering what brought her to Hydaelyn in the first place.

The event first debuted back in 2015 and has returned multiple times over the years, including 2017, 2020, 2022, 2024, and now 2026. According to Square Enix, this year’s version is identical to previous iterations, meaning returning players can continue previous progress if they never fully completed the questline.

When is the Maiden’s Rhapsody Event?

The May 2026 run of The Maiden’s Rhapsody event began on May 8, 2026, and will remain available until May 25, 2026. Once the event ends, the quests and rewards will no longer be obtainable until Square Enix decides to rerun the crossover again in the future.

How to Participate in the Maiden’s Rhapsody Event

To start the event, players need to travel to Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and speak with the NPC Remumu at coordinates X:11.6, Y:11.2. The event quest is titled “A Journey to Remember.”

Players must have a character at approximately Level 30 to comfortably complete the event since some combat encounters take place in higher-level zones. Community discussions and previous event walkthroughs also note that newer players should still be able to access the crossover relatively early into the game.

The questline itself is fairly straightforward and mostly focuses on story progression, dialogue, and traveling between locations with Iroha. Veterans who already completed the event previously can replay it using the Seasonal Event Replay feature, although replaying the quests does not provide duplicate rewards.

Maiden’s Rhapsody Event Rewards

The main attraction of the event is the exclusive Amatsu armor set, inspired by Iroha’s appearance from Final Fantasy XI. The armor pieces are cosmetic rewards often used for glamour outfits by players.

The reward set includes:

  • Amatsu Hachigane
  • Amatsu Togi
  • Amatsu Tekko
  • Amatsu Haidate
  • Amatsu Sune-ate

Players can also earn the “Heaven Eleven” achievement by completing the event questline. One reason the event remains popular is because many players consider the armor one of the best crossover glamours in the game, especially for samurai-style outfits. Community discussions around the 2026 rerun show many returning players are still excited to grab the set years later.

Final Thoughts

The Maiden’s Rhapsody remains one of Final Fantasy XIV’s most beloved crossover events, largely because of its nostalgic connection to Final Fantasy XI and its highly sought-after glamour rewards. With the event only running until May 25, players who still need the Amatsu armor set or want to replay the crossover story should make sure to jump in before it disappears again.
