Ghost of Yotei has several different enemy types for you to face off against in epic battle. With so many foes to fight, it’s easy to get overwhelmed or caught outnumbered. Luckily, Atsu has several Quickfire tools that can help turn the tide of a fight, whether through AOE attacks or instant stagger damage.
Quickfire weapons are small but effective tools that can be paired with your primary weapons as part of a loadout. They add an air of customization to your combat style and give you an advantage in battle, whether you’re facing multiple foes or in a one-on-one duel.
Kunai

Kunai inflict major stagger damage with every hit. They are useful for interrupting enemy attacks and gaining an advantage when battles become dicey. With your kunai, you can stagger an opponent from a distance before closing in and delivering the finishing blow. Kunai work best paired with the slow but powerful Odachi, as they add a faster way to damage your opponents should the need arise.
To get the Kunai, you need to start the Winter Farms Sensei quest up in Teshio Ridge, then investigate the body of a Nine-Tails shinobi at a Contested Farm. There are five contested farms throughout Teshio Ridge, and this quest can be started at any of them.Â
The refined Kunai deal added damage for 300 coins and 10 black powder. Enhanced Kunai allows you to throw an additional kunai for 550 coins, 20 black powder, and 5 shinobi steel. Perfected Kunai maxes out the damage output per hit and costs 1000 coins, 30 black powder, and 10 shinobi steel.
You start with four kunai but can increase the capacity in exchange for currency and materials. For 5 kunai, you need 300 coins. For 6 kunai, you need 400 coins and 30 metal. For the maximum 7, you need 625 coins, 10 rare metals, and 5 rare wood.
Smoke Bomb

Smoke bombs are a great way to throw some chaos into any battle and shift the tides by changing the field of battle. Once activated, smoke bombs cover Atsu, the enemies, and the surrounding area with smoke, giving you a chance to escape or switch to a stealth and assassination approach if necessary. You can unlock smoke bombs by playing through the Tale of the Kitsune Revenge Quest in the Old Graveyard in Sakuru Woods, on the eastern border of the region.
You start with two smoke bombs; however, with upgrades, you can increase the capacity and effectiveness of your smoke bombs. For 400 coins and 30 metals, you get an extra smoke bomb. To get the maximum 4 smoke bombs, you’ll need 625 coins, 10 rare metals, and 5 rare wood.
Metsubushi

The Metsubushi is a great way to immediately stagger and interrupt your enemies, leaving them open and unable to defend against your attacks. By throwing the white powder into the face and eyes of her foe, Atsu effectively blinds them for a few moments, giving you the advantage.
To get the Metsubushi in Ghost of Yotei, you must defeat Crow Genzo in the Blue-Flowered Cemetery in the Jade Grove area, which is in the northwestern part of the Yotei Grasslands region. It will be collected automatically after you defeat him.
You start with 3 Metsubushi in your arsenal, but you can easily raise that number with upgrades. For 300 coins, you get one extra Metsubushi. For 400 coins and 30 metal, you unlock 5 metsubushi. For 625 Coin, 10 Rare Metals, and 5 Rare Wood, you get the maximum number of 7 Metsubushi in your arsenal.
Tanzutsu

The Tanzustu is capable of delivering a great deal of stagger and normal damage on any kind of foe. Once fired, typically from close to mid-range, the Tanzustu inflicts stagger damage, completely ignoring all forms of shields or defenses, making it one of the most destructive and effective quickfire weapons in Atsu’s arsenal.
If you fire the Tanzutsu while an enemy is attacking, you’ll perform a Pistol Parry, which stops the victim in their tracks and forces them to kneel, leaving them open to follow-up strikes and a finishing blow. With an Altar of Reflection, you can learn a technique under Onryo Attacks. This technique lets Atsu use the Tanzutsu to kill an additional enemy at the end of a standoff, in addition to the second one she kills with the Standoff Streak technique for a total of three kills. You can combine this with the Charm of Howling Terror for 4 total kills. You can even add a 5th kill if you have a partner like the Wolf.
The Tanzutsu is unlocked by progressing the Guns and Consequences Sensei quest in Oshima Coast. You can start it at Matchlock Murata’s Workshop, on the western end of the Karatsu River. This quest is given to you when you arrive at Oshima Coast.
Getting an altered Tanzustu for 4050 Coin and 10 Gun Parts moderately increases the standard damage. The reinforced Tanzustu costs 4500 coins, 50 metals, and 15 gun parts, and moderately increases its stagger damage. For 5000 coins and 20 gun parts, you can get the enhanced version, which further increases the damage output. Finally, for 6000 coins, 30 gun parts, and 10 rare metals, you get the perfected Tanzustu, which further increases the stagger damage.
Oni’s Flame

The Oni’s Flame is easily one of the coolest quickfire weapons in Atsu’s arsenal. This weapon ignites any melee weapon you currently have equipped and causes fire damage to enemies that passively drains their health. The Oni’s Flame also makes your attacks unblockable, making any melee weapon you use considerably more dangerous.
You get Oni’s Flame during the Twin Wolves, Twin Hearts Revenge quest in Ishikari Plain, shortly after reaching the summit of the Azure Wind Shrine.
You start with a maximum capacity of 3 Oni’s Flames. For 300 coins, you unlock one more. For 400 coins and 30 metals, you get 5 Flames. To unlock the maximum capacity of 7 Oni’s Flames, you need 625 coins, 10 rare metals, and 5 rare wood.
Scorch Bomb

The Scorch Bomb is exactly as the name implies. An explosive, throwable weapon that does massive damage to multiple enemies in an area. The Scorch Bomb also ignites the ground of the affected area, making it harmful to any enemies who weren’t caught in the initial blast. It is important to note that this weapon’s effects are also harmful to Atsu.
You get the scorch bomb once you complete the Bomb Maker sensei quest in the Fire Cricket Canyon.
Altered scorch bombs cause additional explosive damage for 300 coins and 10 black powder. The reinforced scorch bomb increases the burning damage and duration for 550 coins, 20 black powder, and 5 Oni Raider Mask pieces. The enhanced scorch bomb increases the explosion radius for 1000 coins, 30 Black Powder, and 10 Oni Raider Mask Pieces. Finally, the perfected scorch bomb massively increases its explosion damage for 2500 coins, 20 oni raider masks, and 10 rare wood.
Blind Bomb

The blind bomb functions like a flashbang, as it temporarily disorients any enemies caught within the blast radius. This throwable weapon is a great way to turn the tide of any battle to your favor and allow you to handle multiple opponents at a time with ease.
You unlock Blind Bombs by progressing the Fighting Fire With Fire Sensei quest, which is the follow-up to The Bomb Maker quest, where you get the Scorch Bombs.
Altered blind bombs cause additional explosive damage for 300 coins and 10 black powder. The reinforced blind bomb increases the burning damage and duration for 550 coins, 20 black powder, and 5 Oni Raider Mask pieces. The enhanced blind bomb increases the explosion radius for 1000 coins, 30 Black Powder, and 10 Oni Raider Mask Pieces. Finally, the perfected blind bomb massively increases its explosion damage for 2500 coins, 20 oni raider masks, and 10 rare wood.
