Marathon has been out for about two weeks now, launching across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The game quickly pulled in a strong audience, hitting a peak of around 88,337 concurrent players on Steam shortly after release. Alongside its core extraction shooter gameplay, it also ships with 14 achievements that completionists and trophy hunters will definitely want to tick off.
The list isn’t overly difficult, but a few of them can feel grindy if you don’t approach them efficiently. Here’s a full breakdown of all achievements and the best ways to unlock them without wasting time.
All Achievements in Marathon and How To Complete Them

1. Welcome to Tau Ceti
This is unlocked when you complete or skip your initial run. You can skip it to get the achievement instantly, but if you’re new to extraction shooters, it’s better to play through it since it teaches core mechanics like looting, contracts, and extraction.
2. This is Marathon
You earn this when you experience shell death for the first time. This will happen naturally during your early matches, so don’t try to avoid it. Instead, use those early runs to understand how combat and survival work.
3. Everything Runs on CyberAcme
This achievement unlocks once you re-establish communication with the Sol system by completing your first Priority Contract. Focus on finishing the CyberAcme intro contracts early, as they are straightforward and help you understand how objectives work.
4. Run, Repeat
You get this after successfully exfilling 7 times. The safest approach is to avoid unnecessary fights, wait for extraction points to activate, and secure the area before calling it in. Guarded exfils are faster but riskier if you’re not prepared.
5. Run Executable
This is awarded for completing 21 runs, whether you survive or not. Since deaths still count, you can speed this up by doing quick runs where you loot briefly and either extract or move on without overcommitting.
6. End Run
You unlock this by eliminating 14 rival Runners. The easiest way to do this is by catching players off guard, either by ambushing them or third-partying fights instead of engaging in direct, fair battles.
7. Anti-Establishment
This requires you to eliminate 147 UESC units. These AI enemies are common across the map, so you don’t need to farm them specifically. Just clear enemies during your normal runs and this will build up naturally.
8. Jackpot
You’ll earn this after looting 777 containers. To progress quickly, make it a habit to open every container you see when not in combat. Even partially looted ones count if there are items left inside.
9. Sign Here
This is unlocked by completing 35 contracts. Always activate a contract before starting a run, and prioritize Priority contracts first since they offer better rewards and progression. Use Repeatable contracts to fill in the gaps.
10. Cutting Edge
You get this by unlocking 7 capstone upgrades. The fastest method is to focus on one faction’s upgrade tree instead of spreading your resources too thin. Unlock cheaper upgrades first to reach the capstone nodes faster, and track materials to gather what you need efficiently.
11. RIP UESC
This achievement is earned by eliminating 28 UESC Commanders. These enemies are much tougher than standard units, so it’s best to clear weaker enemies first before focusing on them. Make sure you’re properly equipped before taking them on.
12. Reliable Asset
You unlock this by reaching VIP status with a faction. The quickest way is to consistently complete contracts for that faction and focus on actions that increase its reputation during your runs.
13. Seasoned Veteran
This requires you to earn 100 Season Levels. It’s a long grind, so consistency is key. Play regularly and take advantage of weekly bonuses, especially the extra XP from your first 10 runs each week.
14. Escape Will Make Me…
This is unlocked after completing all other achievements in the game. If you’re missing one, it’s best to target that specific requirement instead of playing without a clear goal.
Conclusion

Most of Marathon’s achievements are tied to simply playing the game efficiently rather than grinding specific tasks. If you focus on completing contracts, extracting consistently, and progressing through faction upgrades, you’ll naturally unlock most of them along the way.
The key is to always go into each run with a goal. Whether it’s farming materials, completing contracts, or hunting players, having a plan will speed up your path to 100 percent completion.
