Marvel Rivals is getting an update — a pretty big one, in fact, with the main, juicy stuff being the 18 vs 18 Annihilation mode that looks hella promising (this, of course, after that PvE Zombie mode that came around last month).

Also, this Marvel Rivals new patch brings all the details of the game’s anniversary celebration, the return of the Season 1 Battle Pass, store discounts for Black Friday, new bundles, and a stack of bug fixes.

Read on to know everything about it and start choosing how you’re gonna prepare for what’s to come!

The basic stuff: when and how to play

According to the game’s official website, the Marvel Rivals new patch is scheduled to go live November 27, 2025 at 09:00 UTC.

The update requires no server downtime — just log in on the platform of your choice after the drop and you’re good to go.

Annihilation Mode: What’s all this about 18 vs 18

The main feature of the Marvel Rivals new patch is the 18 vs 18 Annihilation Mode, a Domination-style showdown that pits 36 players into two different teams, both of which will go for control objectives spread across the map.

Speaking of which, the map is also new: it’as called “Grand Garden” and consists of a sprawling area that mixes tight corners and wide-open sections — the former enable traps that cater to characters with a heavier focus on hit-and-run strategies, while the latter allows for all the flashy, ultimate-trading fights.

The main idea for the new game mode is to provide opportunities to capture large sections of the map, but also easily lose them by swarming enemies. Strategy will be key for both attack and defense.
