2K Games has officially released NBA 2K26’s Season 7 and the update is full of new content. Launched at a date that matches the NBA postseason and the start of WNBA’s 30th season, the game’s new features introduce a fresh 40-level progression track across multiple game modes, featuring a significant focus on cross-league integration and high-tier player rewards.

Also, as any update worth their salt, the new season also brings more gameplay balancing and the return of remastered classic environments, in a bid to maintain engagement for both competitive and casual players during the height of the professional basketball calendar.

Check out our full breakdown below.

MyTEAM Reward Updates

The rewards track for MyTEAM in Season 7 is headlined by the introduction of G.O.A.T. tier cards, representing some of the highest-rated players in the game.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the ultimate reward at Level 40 is a G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan card, eligible at the Shooting Guard and Small Forward positions. Players begin their journey at Level 1 with an Invincible Angel Reese card, reflecting her status as this season’s featured athlete and giving a nod to the WNBA.

Other notable progression rewards include a 100 OVR John Stockton at Level 30, an Invincible Ben Wallace at Level 35, and a Dark Matter Phil Jackson Coach Card at Level 28 to complement the Jordan reward. Additional Dark Matter cards for Wendell Carter Jr. and Norman Powell are situated at Levels 10 and 20, respectively.

MyCAREER Changes and the Return of Rivet City Park

Just like MyTEAM, the MyCAREER feature will also bring some major changes. Players will see the return of Rivet City Park, a remastered industrial-themed environment first popularized in NBA 2K16. The competitive structure of the Park remains centered on winning streaks and leaderboard progression for those seeking the Park MVP title.

Also, the 40-level rewards track for MyCAREER offers several functional and cosmetic items:

  • Level 18: Dune Buggy Vehicle.
  • Level 19: ‘Moondog’ Cleveland Cavaliers Mascot.
  • Level 29: Two-Tone Goatee.
  • Level 36: Angel Reese Tee.
  • Level 39: Low Poly Baller cosmetic.
  • Level 40: +1 Cap Breaker, a high-value tool for increasing MyPLAYER attribute caps.

Finally, new NBA-inspired builds have been added, allowing players to model their characters after two-way stars such as Gary Payton, Klay Thompson, Jaylen Brown, Evan Mobley, and Chet Holmgren.

Pro Pass and Premium Reward Tiers

NBA 2K26’s Season 7 Pro Pass and Hall of Fame Pass offer 40 additional levels of premium content for players who choose to purchase them. Upon purchase, players receive automatic rewards, including a 100 OVR Stephen Curry card, a Cold Blooded Viper Mask, and a Premium After Hours Outfit.

The premium track culminates in a second G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan card at Level 40, which features Point Guard and Shooting Guard eligibility, providing different lineup flexibility than the free version.

Other premium highlights include an Animated Boxing Robe at Level 21, the Detroit Pistons mascot ‘Hooper’ at Level 30, and an Ice Form variant of the Low Poly Baller at Level 39.

WNBA Integration and Expansion Content

Reflecting the start of the WNBA season, the update includes significant additions to The W and Quick Play modes.

Two expansion franchises, the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, are now fully playable in Quick Play. All WNBA teams have also had their court floors and uniforms updated to reflect the official 2026 season designs.

Rewards in The W Online include an Atlanta Dream Basketball and Jersey Card, 5,000 VC, and weekly rotating cosmetics such as Gemini and Cancer-themed tops and necklaces.

Gameplay Balancing and Technical Fixes

This is probably the place where NBA 2K26 players will see the more enduring changes. The Season 7 update has brought a significant gameplay patch, primarily targeting the effectiveness of taller builds.

The update reduced the impact of height mismatches on contest coverage, allowing shorter defenders to generate more effective contests against taller shooters. Well-positioned and well-timed defensive maneuvers now narrow the shooter’s green window more significantly than in previous seasons.

Offensively, the developers refined the transition from standing stepback moves into driving animations to improve physical realism and momentum consistency. Technical fixes were also applied to the MyNBA mode, specifically resolving a bug that blocked progression during the NBA Cup when using customized league schedules.

Final Thoughts

Season 7 represents a comprehensive bridge between the conclusion of the NBA season and the emergence of the WNBA, highlighted by Angel Reese being the face of the new update.

That, alongside the addition of major star powers such as Michael Jordan, plus the technical gameplay balancing, ensure that NBA 2K26 players will have a competitive environment where everyone can play to their fullest, reducing certain unfair advantages from previous updates and giving everybody a shot at victory.NBA 2K26 is available for purchase on PC (Windows and macOS), Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows, as well as a mobile (iOS and Android) and arcade versions.
