Anyone remember Reigns? That game made by Nerian and Devolver Digital, that involved a lot of moral choices you made through swiping left or right, Tinder style? Well, it’s back — this time, in Witcher form: Poland’s CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Reigns: The Witcher will be released on PC and mobile on February 27th, 2026.

You’d be forgiven if you’re feeling a little lost when reading this: Reigns is one of the most interesting storytelling experiences from Devolver Digital, but as with any other game from the company, it tends to fly high outside of the mainstream circles.

In this case, Reigns: The Witcher will once again put you in the shoes of legendary monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, who will live his epic tales through the barding presentation of his longtime friend Dandelion. These tales, mind you, pertain to the story of the books written by Andrzej Sapkowski.

The gameplay is tightly knitted into the story, since this is more of a visual novel type of progression: the situations will always be there, but their outcomes will be represented through a this-or-that choice that, sometimes, is clear as day: to kill or not to kill a rampaging monster, for instance. In other scenarios, they’ll be more nuanced, like providing counsel to a village on dealing with a curse, or cracking a joke that villagers may or may not like (and they will react accordingly).

So no, don’t expect to take any direct action on the progression of the story: in here, it’s all about the narrative. Make a weird choice, get a weird reaction. But as you progress through the stories, you’ll level up to engage in different tales and different options.

It’s not the easiest to explain, but it is the easiest to show, as CDPR was kind enough to provide us with a trailer and some images, all of which you’ll see below

In other news, did you know Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may get a final DLC almost 10 years after its original release? Also, Witcher 4 won’t come out this year, sadly…
