For those not in the known, Roblox’s Garden Horizons is a farm simulator game developed by Dawn Digital, and the reason why it’s getting popular these last few days is because of its different spin on the genre.
You see, not only can you grow crops and manage resources for a successful (virtual) farming experience, Garden Horizons also has a unique ripening feature where crops grow in value over time, essentially leading the player into the beginnings of business making with whatever they’re growing.
Still, as easy to understand as they are, even the most basic farming simulator game has its different perks and quirks, which can sow (pun intended) confusion among some players. So keep reading for a comprehensive beginner’s guide to help you start your journey efficiently.
Use Starter Codes for an Immediate Boost

Before you even plant your first seed, you should redeem the available free codes to get a head start with money and seeds. Even better, these codes don’t require the purchase of gift cards (although you might wanna check out those as well, for the future) as they are freely given.
To redeem your codes, go to the Settings gear icon in the top left and scroll down to the codes section. Enter the following codes in all capital letters:
- RELEASE: Provides starting Shillings and items.
- 358: Another code for starting rewards.
- DAWN: Grants the massive Dawn Fruit tree, but only if you have joined the developer’s Roblox group.
Start Your Garden with Carrot Seeds

When you first claim one of the six available garden plots, you will have a very small amount of money. Head to Bill’s Seed Shop in the central hub and buy Carrot Seeds. These are perfect for beginners because they grow quickly and provide a steady flow of cash back into your pocket.
Wait for the “Lush” Stage to Sell

The most important mechanic in Garden Horizons is the ripening system. When a plant finishes growing, it starts as Unripe (1x value). If you wait, it becomes Ripened (2x value), and eventually Lush (3x value). Never harvest your plants immediately; wait until they reach the Lush stage to triple your profits. Note that plants only ripen while you are online on the server.
Leverage Weather Events for Mutations

Dynamic weather events like Rain, Fog, Snow, and Starfall occur roughly every five minutes. Plants grown or sitting in the dirt during these events can gain mutations that add significant value multipliers. For example, the Starstruck mutation from a Starfall event offers a 6.5x multiplier, which is the highest seen by many players. Mutations are additive and stack with the Lush multiplier, so keeping your plants in the ground during storms is highly profitable.
Prioritize the Quest Board for Seed Packs

Next to the Sell Shop, you will find the Quest Board, which offers Daily and Weekly missions. These tasks usually involve planting or harvesting specific crops. Completing them rewards you with Shillings and, more importantly, Gardener and Dawn Seed Packs. These packs are valuable because they can contain rare seeds that normally cost Robux, saving you significant money.
Master the Single-Harvest vs. Multi-Harvest Crops Gameplay

There are two main types of crops to manage:
- Single-Harvest: Plants like carrots, onions, and beetroots disappear after one harvest and must be replanted.
- Multi-Harvest: Crops like corn, tomatoes, and fruit trees can be harvested multiple times before the plant needs replacing. In the early game, use single-use plants for quick cash, then transition to multi-harvest plants for a more “infinite” farm setup.
Check Bill’s Seed Shop Every Five Minutes

The Seed Shop restocks with a random selection of seeds every five minutes, often coinciding with weather changes. Since the shop doesn’t stock everything at once, you must check back frequently for rare items. Your ultimate goal should be to save 1 million Shillings to buy a Cherry Seed, which is considered the best and most profitable seed in the game.
Optimize Your Growth with Gear

Visit Molly’s Gear Shop to purchase tools that improve your efficiency.
- Watering Cans: Speed up plant growth and can be used up to three times per plant.
- Sprinklers: Automate the watering process. The Super Sprinkler ($100k) provides the maximum increase to growth rate and lasts for 15 minutes.
- Harvest Bell: Automatically harvests all fully grown plants in a specific area.
Keep Your Garden Organized to Save Space

Each plot has a limit of 200 plants. To maximize your space, bunch your plants together in tight clusters. This not only makes your garden look cleaner but also allows you to harvest many crops at once by holding down the interaction key. If you need to remove a plant, use the shovel, but be careful: deleting a plant with a shovel does not return the seed.
Garden Horizons is already available as a free to play game through the Roblox platform. Download it here for Windows.
