So, Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox might be a thing. At least, that’s what the rumors point out after the Entertainment Software Rating Board updated the game’s listings, specifically mentioning the Xbox Series duo of consoles — S and X — as platforms housing Konami’s epic horror piece (thanks, Insider Gaming).
The game was originally released for the PlayStation 5 last October. Back then, it was a timed exclusive release on the console area (it did come out on Windows, but as consoles go, Sony’s platform was the only one). As expected, Sony’s deal would last a year and, well, it’s October 2025 and, right on cue, ESRB’s new listing mention the Xbox platforms as certified for the game as well.
Not that it is at all surprising: Sony pulled the same move with Tomb Raider, Ghostwire: Tokyo and a bunch of other titles too. However, there is some delicious irony on learning, on Halloween, that Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox is not only real (probably), but also most likele close to a release date (although we’re assuming here!).

We say “probably” because, well, neither Microsoft, Bloober Team nor Konami have made any official announcements, so there’s that. Still, an ESRB listing is pretty much a confirmation at this point, so you probably should expect this game showing up again on Microsoft’s official commerce channels sometime down the line.
Not that we’re too broken up about the fact that the game is a year old, even: Phil played it long after it originally came out, still loved it. And the folks at OpenCritic still praise the title too. So, if you’re on the market for a new game for your Xbox (or even planning on getting an Xbox Series console altogether), you probably should keep an eye out for this one.
