After a long wait of nearly four years, Konami has finally take wraps off Silent Hill: Townfall at Sony’s PlayStation State of Play. It revealed the game’s first gameplay trailer that took us to a new spooky and foggy town set in Scotland. The studio confirmed the game will have a first-person perspective for a more immersive and scary gameplay experience. It is the newest spin-off in the Silent Hill series, similar to the previously released and successful title, Silent Hill f.
Silent Hill: Townfall Gameplay Details
Silent Hill Townfall gameplay trailer shows our new protagonist, Simon Ordell, who seems to keep waking up in water again and again. He is shown coming out of what looks like either a river or a lake. This is when we are introduced to the scary, spooky, and foggy world of our new Silent location: St. Amelia. The town gives the signature Silent Hill eerie vibes of being stuck in a deserted place as you look to find a way out.
The iconic handheld radio that we get to see in Silent Hill games has evolved into an old pocket television, aka CRTV. The studio says this device will offer authentic and gritty audio and video throughout the game. It will help Simon in locating nearby threats in a different way than using a device without a display. It can be used to tune into signals and gauge broadcasts to overcome challenges.

Another major change in the Silent Hill: Townfall gameplay is the inclusion of a first-person perspective. This means players will get to feel the horrors and terror of St. Amelia in a far more personal and immersive way. It will add a whole new dynamic to how you approach the danger ahead of you, be it action combat or stealth. Enemies are said to be capable of hunting Simon dynamically and using their senses to track him. This means players might have to switch their approach on the go and look for new strategies to survive in this new horror video game.
Konami says Silent Hill: Townfall gameplay will also take advantage of the DualSense wireless controller capabilities on PlayStation 5 to add to the immersion. Players will feel different haptic feedback in different situations. The game is set to debut on PlayStation and PC (Steam) this year, but a release date has yet to be revealed.
