As The Division nears its 10-year anniversary, French publisher Ubisoft is looking to release a “Definitive Edition” of the game — in fact, you could see the listing on Xbox’s digital store for $49.99, originally, because now it shows “error”. However, this offer may cater only to people who missed out on the original release instead of paying tribute to the franchise’s longtime fans.
No word on the game coming to PS5 or other platforms for now, but according to the Xbox listing, the conveniently named “The Division: Definitive Edition” brings:
- Tom Clancy’s The Division
- Season Pass
- Season Pass Exclusive Outfits
- Expansion I: Underground
- Expansion II: Survival
- Expansion III: Last Stand
- Sawed-off Shotgun
- Frontline Outfit Pack
- Let it Snow Pack
- Military Specialists Outfits Pack
- Parade Pack
- Sports Fan Outfit Pack
- Streets of New York Outfit Bundle
- Marine Forces Outfits Pack
- Upper East Side Outfit Pack

Now, I would like to point out the “error” in the above screengrabs right where the action button to buy the game would be located — an indication that the listing went live when it wasn’t supposed to and may get taken down at any time.
Now, the 15 items above may look like a lot, but as the old adage goes, looks can be deceiving: we’re talking the base game and all of its DLCs. No remastering, no new content, no new versions of old content.
Granted, Ubisoft is not under any obligation to be any different than this — and especially considering the company did not publicly promote The Division: Definitive Edition (originally, its very existence was spotted by gamers earlier this month and, for all effects and purposes, considered a rumor until now), it is well within its rights to release the product as it is described here.
However, considering its recent corporate shenanigans, closed off studios, cancelled games (one of them being the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake), questionable layoff agreements and even a 14-years-in-development game update where they…promise they’re still developing the game, consumers would be forgiven if they thought the company would try to make for all of it somehow — or at least start trying to.
Furthermore, the original rumor, where ad pieces were spotted by fans, did mention “new merchandise”, as IGN pointed out.
At any rate, Ubisoft’s extraction shooter game seems to be up for purchase yet again. Oh, right: they’ve yet to come out with any news or media about The Division 3, so there’s that…
