The Xbox Partner Showcase has unveiled a brand new trailer for Tides of Annihilation, from China’s Eclipse Glow Games — and boy, this gameplay looks exciting.

The video, which you can see below, gives us a little more insight on the Dual Frontline Battle System: essentially, a double whammy of fights taking place at the same time between dimensions, where you have lead character Gwendolyne in one side, while the other sees the Knights of the Round lending their powers to the player in order to advance, plowing through enemies in spectacular fashion.

We might be way too excited for this, so we’ll let you be the judge after taking a look at the trailer below:

Speaking to Xbox Wire, producer Kun Fu explained the combat system in detail: “In this new trailer, the knight Sir Lamorak lends his power to Gwendolyn enabling the player to control both Gwendolyn and Lamorak simultaneously to fight inside and outside the mirror Folded Realm. The ability to summon, command and control spectral knights with the Dual Frontline Battle system is all about giving players the freedom to shape their own combat style.

All in all, this game looks promising as it seeks to cater to two different demographics: gameplay aficionados who miss an actual, fast-paced combat system (like the ones in Bayonetta or Vanquish, for instance) will get a kick out of these fights, while story-driven players will be able to know more about the Knights of the ]Round tales — especially the lesser-known of the Arthurian knights, such as Lamorak himself.

Sadly, Tides of Annihilation does not have a release window ready. Some speculation states somewhere in 2026, but that’s not something confirmed nor commented by the studio behind the game, so make sure to moderate your expectations for the time being.

Oh, and despite being showcased on the Xbox Partners stream, Tides of Annihilation will also come to PlayStation 5 and PC — in fact, the game was originally revealed in February’s State of Play event.
