Where Winds Meet is officially released on mobile as of December 12, 2025 — and it already comes with a massive update not only for you phone gamers out there, but changes across all platforms.
According to publisher NetEase, the Where Winds Meet Update 1.1 brings a new area to explore, plus a bunch of quality-of-life improvements, new quests, and also expands the storyline and narrative.

Where Winds Meet Update 1.1: all the changes
The Where Winds Meet Update 1.1 has a name: “Timeless Bonds”. The title pertains to this update’s highlight reward during the event “Fresh Wind, New Year”. Basically, you log in on the game and take part in the event for a slew of specific dates and the “Timeless Bonds” part is the reward as a Hero Title.

New Exploration Area & Core Content
- Roaring Sands New Region: The full map of the Kaifeng region is now available, unlocking the Roaring Sands portion and adding nearly one-third of a new explorable area to the game.
- River Master New Campaign: A new Campaign called Heavenfalls is available in the Roaring Sands section of Kaifeng, allowing players to fight the River Master and obtain new materials.
- Feng Ruzhi New World Boss: A powerful new open-world boss named Feng Ruzhi is now available in the Roaring Sands region.
- Gossip Paper New Minigame: This new social system, available from December 11, 2025, allows players to track clues, pass hidden information, deceive, or expose others. It is unlocked after progressing the Kaifeng Main Chapter to New Arrival in Kaifeng – First Arrival.
New Sect
- Velvet Shade New Sect: This new sect will be available starting December 14, 2025.
- Joining Velvet Shade unlocks its sect reputation and discipline progression system.
- Players can increase the sect ranking and uncover secret rules by completing the quest Jianghu Legacy: Shadows in Bloom.
- The Velvet Shade Shop, Langfeng Garden, will open soon, offering appearances and sect items.
New Challenges & Endgame
- Taiping Mausoleum New Challenge: This new challenge, available starting December 11, 2025, can be accessed through the Path Trial challenges.
- Attempts reset weekly during Friday maintenance.
- Clearing more floors yields rewards such as the Pose [Politely Decline], Decoration [Arena Weapon Rack], Inscription [Jianghu], and development materials.

New Events
- Mobile Persistent Beta Unveils: This event celebrates the mobile version release (December 12, 2025) and provides players with gifts and rewards.
- Fresh Wind, New Year: This seasonal event runs from December 11, 2025, until January 3, 2026. Quests unlock in three waves on December 11, December 14, and December 30, 2025. Rewards include appearances such as [Ox-Head] and [Horse-Face], and the Hero Title [Timeless Bonds].
- The Great Faceologist: A character customization contest available from December 11 until December 31, 2025.
New Appearances & Cosmetics
- Battle Pass Appearance: [Magpie’s Farewell].
- Mount: [Fleethoof].
- Outfit Split Feature: Select outfits, including [Magpie’s Farewell] and [Hollow Strokes], now support splitting into separate top and bottom pieces for more flexible customization.
- Draw Shop Appearances: [Formless Disguise] and the Weapon Appearance [Silent Voice: Kun Umbra] (available Dec 14, 2025).
- Echo Appearances: [Waveborn Majesty], [Sinking Sun], and Hairstyle [Chasing Moonlight] (available Dec 18, 2025).
- Shop Appearances: Multiple new items, including [Desert Wail], [Hollow Strokes], [Green Veil], and others, were added with staggered release dates throughout December 2025.
Quality of Life Updates (QoL)
- Dialogue Functionality: Added functionality to pause and rewind dialogue.
- Controller Optimizations:
- Mystic Skill Tile Mode was added, supporting both keyboard/mouse and controller, allowing users to view the usage status of all eight Mystic Skills.
- Mystic Skill Key Customization was added for controllers, enabling Mystic Skills to be released with a single press instead of combo keys.
- Execution combo key logic was optimized for controllers to take priority and forcibly interrupt dodging.
- UI/Settings: A [Settings] button was added to the lower-left corner of the login screen, allowing players to adjust graphics, audio, and camera settings before logging in.
- Guild Events: Guild event times now display in the local time zone.
- Arena Access: The 1v1 Arena opening time was improved, making it accessible daily from 22:00 PM to 20:00 PM the following day (UTC).
Bug Fixes
- Network/Server: Fixed an issue in Solo mode where players in certain regions (including Europe and the Middle East) were incorrectly routed to non-local servers, resulting in high network latency.
- Audio/Visual: Fixed audio-video desynchronization in some dialogues. Fixed missing voice-overs in some encounters. Fixed an issue where background music was missing in main chapter CG.
- Customization: Fixed an issue where hair roots could not be dyed.
- System/Interface: Fixed a text display issue with the Legendary Hero Title.
- Progression/Achievements: Fixed an issue where the “Jianghu Drifter” achievement in Qinghe could not be completed. Fixed an issue preventing acquaintance with Old Friends and corrected the counting error.
- Controller Issues: Fixed an issue in controller mode where a specific Inner Way could not be locked.
- Rewards: Fixed an issue where players could not tip or claim rewards at Springwave Pavilion.
