Wuthering Waves welcomed its 3.3 update on April 30, 2026, and this one is not only big but also represents a pivotal moment for China’s Kuro Games’ main title.
Beyond serving as a milestone for the game’s second anniversary celebration, the new version, titled “Reverbs From the End of Galaxies,” pushes the narrative into the depths of the Voidspace between Startorch Academy and the Threnodian monster known as “Aleph-1.” Not only is the update chock-full of improvements, but it also brings an end to the Lahai-Roi questline and signals that the game is ready to move on.
Also, two new characters and a bunch of returning ones will grace players with new abilities, including a much-needed Glacio powerhouse, and significant technical upgrades make this update a must-have. Check out our full breakdown below.
New Resonators and Signature Weapons

The update introduces two new 5-star Resonators, each accompanied by a signature weapon designed to complement their unique combat roles.
- Hiyuki (5-Star, Glacio/Sword): Hailing from Ashinohara, she is the sole remaining member of the Special Response Force. Hiyuki functions as a main damage dealer specialized in Resonance Liberation damage and the Glacio Chafe status effect. Her signature weapon, Frostburn, is a 5-star sword available through the Absolute Pulsation convene.
- Denia (5-Star, Fusion/Rectifier): A student from Startorch Academy’s Department of Voidmatters, Denia balances her “professional slacker” persona with high Concerto Efficiency and Traction capabilities. She is designed to enhance team performance through Fusion Burst and Tune Break boosts. Her signature 5-star rectifier is the Forged Dwarf Star.
For players looking to round out their rosters, Version 3.3 features a selection of returning 5-star favorites across two phases. Reruns for the Resonators Mornye and Iuno will run alongside Hiyuki’s debut. Meanwhile, Chisa and Phrolova will return to the featured banners starting May 21.
Starlights from Yesterdays: The Main Questline

Narratively, Version 3.3 centers on Chapter 3 Act V, “Starlights from Yesterdays.” This act follows the Rover as they activate the “Exostrider plan” in collaboration with the Spacetrek Collective to venture into Voidspace. The stakes are high as the region faces a surge in Voidmatter and the growing shadow of the Threnodian Aleph-1.
Complementing the main act are two Segue Quests:
- “Wishes in the Bell”: Focuses on Hiyuki’s investigation of Aemeath’s frequency and a confrontation with the Fractsidus.
- “Beneath a Melting Night Sky”: Explores Denia’s connection to the Grand Architect and the aftermath of the update’s decisive battle.
Exploration of the Dimmr Plains
The world map expands with the Dimmr Plains, a subterranean area located in the deepest reaches of Lahai-Roi.
Unlike the urban setting of Startorch Academy, the dense forests of Bjartr Woods, and the cold whiteness of the Northern Frostlands, this new environment features floating land masses created by the historical clash between the Exostrider and Aleph-1. Navigation is made easier with the third and final unlock of your motorcycle, which can now fly for short periods while expending stamina and jump several stories high, adding verticality to its movement.
Notable sub-regions include Solisia Landing, the Sealed Fissure, and Dimmr Deep. The area also introduces the Solisia Landing Tacet Field and the Sigillum Tactical Hologram boss challenge. Yes, it is still very tough even on lower difficulties.
2nd Anniversary Events and Rewards

Kuro Games is making it clear that Update 3.3 marks Wuthering Waves’ second birthday. Not only have menus and UI received a major and positive overhaul, but the developer has also implemented several high-value reward programs:
- Gifts of Grand Celebration: A login event offering 20 Radiant Tides, 10 Crystal Solvents, and a limited-time Anniversary Avatar.
- Bountiful Waves: A points-exchange system where players complete “Spindrift Tasks” to earn currency for various upgrading materials.
- Anniversary Minigames: These include Star Bouncing, a pinball-style adventure, and the Cubie Derby Championship, where players can support their favorite Resonator Cubes.
Crossworld Sync Collaborations

The last update saw Wuthering Waves feature a short-term collaboration with SEGA, bringing Sonic and Persona stickers to customize your motorcycle. This trend continues in the new update, which introduces several new exclusive collab liveries and materials. The partnerships are split into two parts:
- Part 1: Features Resident Evil 30th Anniversary, Angry Birds, and Kaiju No. 8.
- Part 2: Includes the Haikyu!! anime, Pragmata, and Riders Republic.
These custom visuals are unlocked after reaching certain milestones per brand. For example, attaining 1,000 Activity Points will grant you a sticker. These activities are not mandatory, and you will likely complete most of them naturally while progressing through the update’s content.
Gameplay Features and Technical Optimizations

As quality-of-life enhancements go, Wuthering Waves Update 3.3 delivers several performance improvements and major additions:
- Motorbike Aerial Mode: The Expedition Motorbike can now unlock an aerial module, allowing for gliding and dashing in the skies of Lahai-Roi. Just like riding across Startorch Academy or above water in the Frostlands, you now get a third modding panel to improve these new abilities. Even better, all upgrades and features are usable across all regions of Lahai-Roi.
- Outfit Accessory System: Players can now customize Resonators with non-combat accessories, such as Denia’s doll or Hiyuki’s “Stillmind.” These are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay.
- Sonata Effects: What does affect gameplay are the “Reel of Spliced Memories,” focused on Tune Break, the stagger mechanic, and “Wishes of Quiet Snowfall,” which enhances Glacio damage and Crit Rate, tailored specifically for Hiyuki.
- Technical Performance: PC and Mac users gain support for anisotropic filtering and DLAA. Additionally, a self-developed frame generation feature is entering beta testing for specific mobile processors to improve frame rates while reducing power consumption.
Final Thoughts
With Update 3.3, Kuro Games seems ready to move Wuthering Waves beyond the Lahai-Roi arc, with this final leg of the main questline teasing what comes next.
This is not entirely new information, as it has been hinted at before, but it now appears the game will take players to Ashinohara. This is significant. The city is the first in the game to be portrayed as openly prejudiced against Resonators, is completely walled off from the outside world, and much of its land has been destroyed by the Lament that players have been fighting across other regions.
In simple terms, given the ending of “Reverbs From the End of Galaxies,” the game is clearly setting up one of its most dramatic arcs yet.
Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play game available on PC, Android, iOS, and PlayStation 5.
