2K and WWE have officially revealed WWE 2K26 after teasing it for the past couple of weeks. It has the current WWE Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as its cover star. This is his second time gracing the cover of an official WWE video game, the previous one being WWE ’13. The newest WWE 2K game will bring multiple improvements, including a bigger roster and new match types over the predecessor WWE 2K25. Here is everything you need to know before you decide to make the purchase.
WWE 2K26 Release Date and Pre-Order Bonus
WWE 2K26 will release worldwide on March 13, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch 2. This is the first WWE 2K game to release exclusively on current-gen consoles. You can get up to 7-day early access with special editions of the game, which we will talk about in a bit.
Anyone who pre-orders WWE 2K26 will get the Joe Hendry pack as a pre-order bonus. This pack includes Joe Hendry as a playable superstar, a Joe Hendry shirt cosmetic item, a Joe Hendry MyFACTION EVO card, and a Joe Hendry Spin Island emote. Additionally, if you pre-order the Attitude Era or Monday Night War edition (until February 23 at 8 AM PT) on PlayStation or Xbox, you will get 15,000 VC in WWE 2K26 and 67,500 VC in WWE 2K25 as a pre-order bonus.

WWE 2K26 Gameplay Features
WWE 2K26 will have a roster of over 400 playable superstars featuring wrestlers from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT, along with various legends and WWE Hall of Famers. The game will have four new match types, new weapons, new Showcase mode improvements to existing modes, all-new Ringside Passes, and more.
The four new match types are I Quit, Inferno, Three Stages of Hell, and Dumpster. The gameplay improvements include stackable tables, thumbtacks, shopping carts, larger interactive environments to punish the opponent, interactive entrances, and a revamped Reversal and Stamina system. The game will bring Wade Barrett and Booker T to the commentary team. Intergender Matches have now been expanded to all core game modes.
Here are other notable WWE 2K26 improvements:
- MyRISE: Two new division-based storylines where heroic or villainous decisions will impact the players in new ways. Players can continue the storyline even after completing the main story to unlock more content and achievements.
- 2K Showcase: This year’s 2K Showcase revolves around the personal journey of CM Punk. You will get to relive many of the iconic matches of Punk’s career, as well as play fantasy matches that could have taken place. The whole showcase is narrated by CM Punk himself.
- MyGM: Support for Intergender Matches and 5, 6, and 8-man matches, and more match types. More shows per season and greater difficulty.
- Universe: This mode now supports WWE Draft. It gets a new Universe Creation Wizard, improved MITB cash-ins, additional promo types, and Watch Show Mode
- The Island: A new storyline where players have to choose from one of the three factions fighting to control the island. A revamped progression system, new Scrapyard Brawl environment, fresh towers, and many more improvements. The mode is also available on PC this year.
WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass Explained
WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass is essentially a battle pass system that replaces the previously used DLC Pack model. It will allow players to unlock free and premium rewards by playing various game modes (excluding online lobbies) and earning XPs. Ringside Pass will have 60 free tiers and 40 premium tiers. Players will be able to unlock Superstars, cosmetic items, MyFACTION content, Island content, and VCs.
2K will release six WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass seasons throughout the year. The Ringside Pass Season 1 will be available on the launch day. It will have Superstars and Legends in the free tier that were previously available as part of the WWE 2K Supercharger.
