Through its public profile on X/Twitter, SEGA’s Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has confirmed that Yakuza 3 Remastered will soon cease standalone sales, and the publisher will prioritize the commercial push for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, which is slated to come out on February 12, 2026.
The company has also stated that current owners of the soon-to-be-unnofered game will still be able to play it normally, but if you want to buy Yakuza 3 Remastered specifically, then you’ll have to do so via the Yakuza Complete Series bundle that came out mid-2024.
Starting in 2007 but spanning a handful of years, Yakuza 3 puts the player back in the shoes of Kazuma Kiryu, a former Yakuza enforcer turned caretaker who manages the Morning Glory orphanage. In a bad turn of events, it turns out the land where the orphanage is built upon is owned by a Yakuza clan that wishes to take it down in order to build a resort.
Of course, this is Yakuza we’re talking about, so the simple synopsis quickly turns into a web of intrigue between rival clans, Chinese Triads and even the freaking CIA. The game was well received, although not as much as its predecessors, and the same is true for the remastered version, which most of the critics referred to as “rough around the edges”. Still, the game sits nicely at a 79/100 rating on OpenCritic, so that’s a good thing.
As for the Complete Series, it is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, as well as Steam, for prices around $130. It comprises all the seven mainline Yakuza releases, as listed below:

- Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut
- Yakuza Kiwami
- Yakuza Kiwami 2
- Yakuza 3 Remastered
- Yakuza 4 Remastered
- Yakuza 5 Remastered
- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
