Zenless Zone Zero — “ZZZ”, for short — is preparing for a major update. The gacha sensation’s 2.7 version is expected to arrive later this month and, as usual, it should bring new pull banners and introduce new characters to the online Adventure RPG.
While they’re not officially confirmed by developer/publisher HoYoVerse, it all points to Nangong Yu and Cissa being the two major pulls from this update. Both are highly anticipated S-Rank Agents who are, according to many Reddit forums, set to redefine tactical combat through unique elemental mechanics and faction synergies.

Nangong Yu
Who is Nangong Yu
The charismatic captain and lead dancer for the Angels of Delusion, Nangong Yu, joins the roster as an S-Rank Ether Stun Agent, meaning she’s not a main DPS dealer, but she can bridge the gap between initial attacks and heavy-handed finishers. According to ZZZ‘s lore, she carries a playful confidence, frequently seen encouraging her squad or lightheartedly teasing fellow member Sunna. On the battlefield, she is more focused on elemental application for crowd control, making her a fine addition to any party lineup.
Stats, Upgrade Materials & Elemental Affinities
While final stats like base Strength, HP and the like are going to be confirmed when closer to release, Nangong Yu features a groundbreaking passive that converts Anomaly Mastery into Impact power once she exceeds a 100-point threshold. This allows Proxies to build her as a hybrid who can both incapacitate enemies rapidly and trigger the Ether “Corruption” status effectively.
- Core Materials: To maximize her potential, you will need Buster Stun Certification Seals, Ether Chips, and Hamster Cage Passes. High-level progression requires materials from Notorious Hunts and Expert Challenges.
- Elemental Synergies: She is designed for perfect harmony with Aria (Ether Anomaly) and Sunna (Physical Support), completing the Angels of Delusion trio. Because her kit rewards Anomaly building, she pairs exceptionally well with any Agent capable of rapid elemental application, allowing her to benefit from the Impact bonus while the team cycles through chain attacks.

Proxies can expect Nangong Yu to debut during the first phase of Version 2.7, starting March 24, 2026. She will likely be featured alongside a rerun of the Electric Attack Agent, Lucia.
Cissia
Who is Cissia
Cissia is an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent hailing from the Metropolitan Order Division, a specialized branch of New Eridu Public Security. Unlike burst-heavy attackers, she is categorized as a “pressure” specialist who focuses on relentless, inevitable damage over time. Lore-wise, she operates under Severian and maintains a disciplined, almost anxious professional standard, constantly wary of misconduct reports.

Much like Nangong Yu, Cissia’s base stats will likely be revealed closer to release, but her signature combat style revolves around her Venom Mark. By tagging foes, she triggers Serpent’s Venom Burst, which deals damage that bypasses a portion of the enemy’s defense—an effect that grows stronger based on her Energy Regeneration stat.
- Core Materials: Farming for Cissia requires Pioneer Attack Certification Seals, Shock Chips, and standard Notorious Hunt resources.
- Elemental Synergies: Cissia is a force multiplier for her squad, meaning her moves seek to increase bonuses for other characters on the team. Her Ultimate creates an Ether Veil, a tactical window that grants the entire party increased critical damage and armor penetration against marked enemies. This makes her an ideal partner for Electric or Physical carries who can exploit these debuffs to shred high-durability bosses in Shiyu Defense.
When is Cissia Coming
Cissia is scheduled for the second phase of Version 2.7. Her banner will follow Nangong Yu’s, appearing approximately three weeks after the initial March 24 launch, alongside a rerun for Orphie Magnusson & Magus.

Themed “Encore for an Old Dream,” Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.7 expands the social and combat horizons of New Eridu.
- New Social Hub: Players can visit the Zhu Fu Hot Pot shop in Lumina Square.
- Featured Event: The “Scorching Quest for Fresh Flavors” invites Proxies to help Nangong Yu revitalize this local restaurant through a mix of story segments and Hollow exploration.
- New Threats: A new boss, the Sanguine Sweeper, will be introduced in the Deadly Assault mode. This enemy is specifically weak to Electric and Ether damage, making the new Agents perfectly suited for this encounter.
Final Thoughts
Cissia and Nangong Yu gives Zenless Zone Zero players a more tactical approach, offering the chance to, simultaneously, bring some high combo setup capacity to a largely impactful finisher from someone else. This is further increased by the fact that both agents bring status-debuffing abilities to enemies, with Nangon Yu ensuring a longer vulnerable state for enemies, only for you to switch to Cessia with her defense-ignoring Venom mechanics. Furthermore, the team-wide buffs they bring are nothing to scoff at.
Choosing both Agents for a single team provides an improved rotation where Ether and Electric attributes work in tandem. Nangong Yu acts as the enabler who staggers the enemy’s posture, while Cissia serves will work to sustain that and ensure that even major bosses are met with constant pressure. Add to that a third character, like Yixuan or Evelyn (both of which are lousy with AoE and single-target heavy impact moves) and you got a good combo line set up from start to finish.
It’s easier if you think of them as ZZZ’s answer to Genshin Impact’s Electro+Pyro combo, minus the AoE damage features.They’re not damage-heavy, so a third character with hard-hitting moves should make for a very efficient party setup.
