Apex Legends is currently deep into Season 29: Overclocked, but one of the biggest gameplay additions from a couple of seasons ago still continues to shape matches in major ways. Introduced in Season 26: Showdown, Amps added a completely new layer of strategy by giving players powerful passive bonuses that can dramatically influence late-game fights.
Since their arrival, players have had to think beyond just weapons and Legend abilities, especially in Ranked play where every advantage matters. Whether you want stronger healing, faster cooldowns, or even unlimited ammo, Amps can completely change how a match plays out once the loot phase progresses.
Here’s everything currently known about Amps in Apex Legends.
What Are Amps in Apex Legends?

Amps are special lootable items found around the map during matches in Apex Legends. Once picked up, they grant players a bonus passive ability on top of their Legend’s normal kit.
Unlike regular loot, Amps are designed to become more common later into the game. They are relatively rare during the opening stages of a match, with most appearing after the mid-game Loot Bin reset. Because of this, their impact is heavily focused on late-game circles and final squad fights.
Another important limitation is that players can only equip one Amp at a time. Choosing the right one often depends on your loadout, squad composition, and overall playstyle. These items are available in both Ranked and Unranked playlists.
All Available Amps in Apex Legends

At the time of writing this article, there are currently five Amps available in the game. However, Respawn could introduce additional Amps in future updates or seasonal patches as the system continues evolving.
Bottomless Batteries Amp
The Bottomless Batteries Amp is one of the strongest sustain-focused options currently available. When equipped, Shield Batteries are not consumed after use as long as you have at least two batteries in your inventory. This allows players to repeatedly recharge shields without burning through healing resources during extended fights.
Legends who excel in prolonged engagements or defensive playstyles benefit heavily from this Amp, especially during final circles where shield management becomes critical.
Power Booster Amp
Power Booster is designed for ability-heavy gameplay. This Amp reduces Tactical and Ultimate cooldown times, allowing players to use their Legend abilities more frequently throughout a match. On top of that, securing a knock instantly refreshes one Tactical charge.
Aggressive Legends who constantly pressure enemies can chain abilities together much more efficiently with this Amp equipped.
Infinite Ammo Amp
Infinite Ammo is exactly what it sounds like and easily one of the most game-changing Amps introduced so far. Players equipped with this Amp gain unlimited ammunition for their weapons. However, the tradeoff is that two inventory slots become locked and unusable.
Despite the inventory penalty, the ability to fire endlessly without worrying about ammo economy can be incredibly powerful during long-range poke battles or extended endgame fights.
Overflow Healer Amp
Overflow Healer significantly improves healing efficiency. With this Amp active, Shield Cells and Syringes restore 100% shields and health over time, respectively, making smaller healing items much more valuable throughout a match.
Instead of relying heavily on Med Kits or Batteries, players can carry cheaper healing resources while still maintaining strong sustain during combat rotations.
Over Armor Amp
Over Armor provides a direct survivability boost by granting an additional 25 shield capacity. This extra durability can make a massive difference during close-range fights, especially in late-game situations where surviving even one extra bullet can determine the outcome of an entire match.
Tankier Legends and frontline players will likely gravitate toward this Amp for its straightforward but highly effective defensive value.
Final Thoughts

Amps continue to be one of the more impactful additions introduced to Apex Legends over the last few seasons. Since players can only carry one at a time, choosing the right Amp can heavily influence how you approach fights, healing management, and overall rotations during a match.
Whether you prefer infinite ammo pressure, faster ability usage, stronger healing, or additional survivability, the system already offers several powerful options that can completely shift the pace of the game. And with Respawn likely planning additional Amps in future updates, the mechanic could become even more important moving forward.
