Obsidian Entertainment has officially confirmed the Avowed PS5 release for next month. The announcement was made during the New Game Plus showcase alongside the Avowed Anniversary Update. This makes Avowed the latest Xbox exclusive to get a PlayStation 5 release, as we saw with the likes of Forza Horizon 5 and Halo in the past year. Here is everything you have to know about the game’s PlayStation release and Anniversary Update.
Avowed PS5 Release Date, Price, and Pre-Order Details
Avowed will release on PlayStation 5 on February 17, exactly one day ahead of its Xbox and PC release anniversary. It will be available in two editions: Standard and Premium. Avowed Standard Edition and Premium Edition are priced at USD 49.99 and USD 59.99, respectively. Both editions are up for pre-order via the PlayStation Store. The Avowed Premium Edition includes the base game, 2 player armors, 8 companion skins, and digital artbook & soundtrack.

Avowed Anniversary Updates: What’s New?
Avowed Anniversary Update adds tons of new features, including modes. It will bring New Game Plus, Photo Mode, a new weapon type, the ability to change appearance in the world, new character presets, and more Godlike feature presets among others. The update will also introduce three new character races: Aumaua, Orlan, and Dwarves. The New Game Plus mode will let players carry over all the items they collected during the first playthrough to the new save. However, all weapon levels will reset to default levels. It means you will have to upgrade your weapons again during a New Game+ playthrough.
The anniversary update will arrive on the same day as the Avowed PS5 release. Talking about working on the new races, Dimitri Berman of Obsidian Entertainment said,
It’s a lot of work and a difficult thing to really nail down, especially in Avowed with its parkour systems and its combat mechanics and all the weapon types and stuff like that in the game. Our different races are different sizes, they’re different shapes, they’re a very unique game experience when you play as each one of them in a first-person game specifically. So it was something new to wrangle for Avowed.
For those who might not be familiar with Avowed, it is an action role-playing game set in a fictional world of Eora. It belongs to the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity. The game supports both first-person and third-person gameplay modes. It features weapons, magic spells, and firearms that can be used to defeat enemies.
