Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios are celebrating the third anniversary of Dead Island 2 with a new wave of content and collaborations, headlined by a crossover that brings familiar HELL-A survivors into another zombie-infested world.
As part of the anniversary rollout, Dambuster Studios has partnered with Brigada Games and Devolver Digital to release a free Dead Island 2-themed update for Quarantine Zone on Steam. The update blends the two worlds by introducing Dead Island 2 characters into Quarantine Zone, where players can encounter fan-favourite survivors and take on new, themed missions tied to them.
The crossover features appearances from several well-known characters, including Amanda Styles, Burt Michaels, Curtis Sinclair, Rikki Rex, and Roxanne Kwon. Each brings new mission content that expands the connection between the two games, effectively transporting a slice of HELL-A into the Quarantine Zone experience.
Alongside the crossover, the anniversary celebrations extend beyond in-game content. The Dead Island Series Bundle, previously exclusive to Steam, is now coming to Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 for the first time. The release gives long-time fans a chance to revisit the full series in one package, while also offering newcomers a straightforward way to experience the franchise across platforms.
To mark the milestone, the developers have also shared a new piece of artwork by Roberto Ricci, along with a detailed anniversary infographic highlighting player statistics and in-game milestones from across the Dead Island 2 community’s journey through HELL-A.
Across its launch and ongoing updates, Dead Island 2 has delivered fast-paced, tactile zombie combat set against the backdrop of a chaotic, stylised apocalypse. The third anniversary celebration serves as both a thank you to the community and a signal that the franchise’s undead world is still expanding, with more crossovers and content continuing to emerge.
