Ghost of Yotei’s Atsu goes through her quests for revenge armed with some truly devastating weapons. However, these weapons are only a fraction of what makes Atsu so unstoppable. Atsu also has a variety of outfits, headgear, and masks, giving her added abilities, making her more intimidating, and keeping her pretty stylish throughout her journey.

Some of these clothing items come in matching sets of armor, headgear, and masks that make up a complete outfit. These outfits give Atsu added advantages in combat, defense, stealth, and style points. There are 12 total free outfit sets in Ghost of Yotei; here’s how we rank them all.

12. Robes for Sitturaynu

The Robes of Sitturaynu set is one of the most unique sets in the game. This outfit’s perks aren’t tailored to combat or weapons or anything of the sort, but rather to locating and gathering collectibles. The set is also upgraded by finding collectibles rather than using coins and materials. You can unlock this outfit set if you complete the The Heart of Ainu Tale Quest.

11. Fundoshi

Calling the Fundoshi armor would be a stretch. This outfit grants Atsu the ability to become completely silent while running or sprinting, which is great for stealth situations. However, the positives end there. The outfit offers no other perks and is also the least aesthetically pleasing outfit in the game. On the bright side, it’s quite easy to acquire. Simply bathe in all 16 hot springs to unlock this outfit.

10. Taro’s Armor

This outfit is purely focused on defense and survival. You acquire this armor by meeting Taro the Scavenger in the open world within the game. After you rescue Taro from some men and set up camp, he attempts to prove the quality of his wares by gifting you this outfit. Taro’s Armor is one of the most beautiful outfits in this game.

9. Mercenary Attire

The Mercenary Attire is a generally effective outfit that helps you stay on top of your Spirit levels and sake supply. Sake allows you to recover Spirit during battle at the cost of blurry vision and throwing up if used too much. The armor set can be found once you start the Belly of the Beast Revenge quest in the Ishikari Market.

8. Armor of the Undying

Despite its cool name, the Armor of the Undying doesn’t really have any perks to do with death. The outfit offers very situational perks that give you added advantages when you face off against enemies armed with weapons that your current melee weapons directly counter.

While that sounds great in practice, the fact that the perks have no effect against other weapon types and the fact that your weapons still have advantages over those they counter make this outfit little more than a fancy piece of clothing.

That said, you unlock this outfit by completing the Undying Samurai Myth quest.

7. Bounty Master Armor

The Bounty Master Armor is perfect for you if you enjoy precision gameplay. This set improves and rewards perfect parries. This outfit makes close-range battles even more satisfying. While the risks of relying on a system that allows your enemies to attack you first before you respond might be high, when done right, you get to truly enjoy the game’s melee combat as it was meant to be played.

You will get the Bounty Master Armor after completing the Soma the Condemned Bounty in the Yotei Grasslands. You will not be able to start this bounty unless you complete the Bonecrusher Bounty, still within the Yotei Grasslands.

6. Dragonfly Armor

The Dragonfly Armor is one of the most intimidating-looking outfits in Ghost of Yotei. A beautiful set capable of striking fear into the hearts of any foe, this armor set greatly increases the potency of your ranged weapons with every upgrade. You will acquire this armor once you complete the Dragonfly Armor Tale Quest, which you can get by interacting with Daijiro at Cairn Forks within the South Ohara Plains, southwest of the Tokachi Range.

5. Spider Lily Armor

Atsu’s Spider Lily Armor gives her an advantage in situations where she comes up against multiple enemies at once. The outfit’s perks are focused on staggering enemies, interrupting their attacks, and giving you windows to capitalize. You unlock this armor by completing the Spider Lily General Myth Quest.

4. Crimson Kimono

The Crimson Kimono set greatly increases Atsu’s stealth abilities, making it the perfect set for players who love to rely on stealth and assassinations. The Crimson Kimono is at its absolute best when paired with the Kusarigama melee weapon and the Kunai quickfire weapon in the same loadout. Finally, you’ll need the Killer’s Instinct technique to fully embrace the stealth playstyle. To get this outfit, you must complete the Crimson Kimono Myth Quest in Teshio Ridge.

3. Onryo Armor

This is Atsu’s first outfit in the game. A plain but effective outfit, the Onryo Armor starts as just an outfit without any perks until you upgrade it to at least the second level before unlocking some of its perks. Unlike other armor sets in the game, where you have to purchase upgrades, you upgrade the Onryo Armor by completing Gold Revenge Quest Cards. Onryo Armor perks are centered around terrifying enemies and summoning Atsu’s Wolf companion.

2. Nine Tail Armor

The Nine Tail Armor greatly improves Atsu’s proficiency with quickfire weapons. Similar to the Crimson Kimono, this armor improves your stealth proficiency and ability to wipe out scores of enemies undetected. However, instead of focusing on melee or ranged stealth assassinations, the Nine Tail Armor increases the effects of your quickfire weapons. You acquire this armor set from completing the Blood on the Snow Revenge Quest in Teshio Ridge.

1. Ginji’s Guard Armor

The Ginji’s Guard Armor set is one of the most useful in the game, as it improves both your offense and defense against the matchlock weapons, some of the most destructive weapons in the game. With this armor, your proficiency with your devastating matchlock weapons and your effectiveness against them are greatly improved. You must complete the Pride Before Tea tale quest to unlock this outfit.
