Ready or Not offers a wide variety of weapons to suit different use cases. But as is usually the case in first-person shooter games, shotguns are always in high demand. Players prefer them for close or medium-range combat because of their powerful shots. A well-aimed shot can take down the target in just one shot. The game has five lethal and a non-lethal shotgun that differ in aspects like fire rate and reload time.

If you are confused about what makes one shotgun stand apart from the rest, we are here to help. Let’s have a closer look at the best shotguns in Ready or Not.

590M

The 590M is a magazine-fed pump-action shotgun with a detachable box magazine. It is based on the real-world Mossberg 590M, magazine-fed variant of the classic Mossberg 590 shotgun. It has a magazine of 10 rounds, a medium fire rate, and the fastest reload time. The only thing to note is that because of its magazine reload mechanism, the gun becomes inoperable during reload.

M1014

The M1014 (M4 Super 90) is arguably the most reliable and fast-firing shotgun in Ready or Not. It is a gas-powered semi-automatic shotgun with an eight-shell capacity. You can easily take out a room full of enemies with the M1014. The only downside to this shotgun is its high recoil. You will need to practice a bit to get the hang of it.

B1301

The B1301 is a semi-automatic shotgun based on the real-world Beretta 1301 Tactical. Its fire rate is decent, but its reload time is on the slower side. This is why you will have to pay close attention to how much ammo you have left, because reloading at the wrong moment is unlikely to end well. Its unique bolt design reduces muzzle climb significantly compared to other shotguns.

Ready or Not also has the B1301 Entryman. It is identical to the base B1301 in stats, but has a bronze cosmetic. This variant of the gun is available exclusively to Ready or Not Supporter Edition (no longer available) owners.

870 CQB

The 870 CQB is a pump-action shotgun modeled after the real-world Remington 870. It is great for close-range one-on-one combat if you are good with accuracy. This is because the shotgun has a slow fire rate, which means the table can turn quickly if you miss the target. It is also the reason this is not a good pick when you are taking on multiple targets at the same time. But when you manage to hit, you can take out a target without armor with just one shot. For targets with the strongest armor, only three to four shots are required.

Supernova

The Supernova (also referred to as SuperbNova in some places) is a pump-action shotgun. The extensive use of polymer makes it lightweight and easy to handle. This is what sets it apart from other options in the game. It can hold nine shells in one go, but has a painfully long reload time. It is the reason you should either make every bullet count or try to reload when there is sufficient time.

Beanbag

The Beanbag shotgun is primarily a non-lethal weapon. It uses beanbag rounds and is meant to immobilize targets. If you want a non-lethal weapon in any round of the game, the Beanbag should be your pick. However, it can still prove to be lethal in situations if you take a headshot or use it excessively on the same target. If your goal is to immobilize a target, make sure you are not aggressive while using it.

You must have got a good idea of the different shotguns available in Ready or Not. Each variant has different pros and cons, and you will have to adapt according to the mission and in that particular moment. The best approach is to practice with shotguns to get an in-game, in-hand feel of the shotgun to see which one suits your playstyle the best. The next step is to keep playing with that shotgun to become a master.
