Early on in Arknights: Endfield, you unlock the Eco-Farm, a small farming facility that lets you grow useful plants for crafting and combat buffs. It is not available right away, but once you progress far enough in the main story, you can build it in your Tech Space.
The farm is simple on the surface. Plant seeds, wait for them to grow, harvest materials. But if you want to get serious value from it, you need fertilizer. Specifically, you want Bumper-Rich fertilizer, which doubles your harvest yield when crops finish growing.
Here is how the whole system works, step by step.
Unlocking Fertilizer: Complete “Burdenbeast Tales”

Before you can start crafting fertilizer, you must complete the side quest “Burdenbeast Tales.” The quest becomes available after reaching Chapter 2’s “Way of the Water,” and you can pick it up from LiFeng in Wuling City. It only takes about five to ten minutes to complete. Finishing it introduces you to Burdenbeasts, which are essential to the fertilizer process.
Step 1: Collect Burdo-Muck from Burdenbeasts

Burdo-Muck is the main ingredient for fertilizer. Burdenbeasts are large, calm creatures found in pastures around Wuling City. You can interact with each one once per day. Simply approach and pat them, and they will drop Burdo-Muck. Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like.
There are three separate herds in the region. Visiting all of them daily can net you between 12 and 24 Burdo-Muck. You can find them southeast of Wuling City, northwest of the first herd near several glow-locked chests, and south of the depot. You can use raw Burdo-Muck to speed up crop growth, but that is not the most efficient option. The real value comes from turning it into Bumper-Rich fertilizer.
Step 2: Craft Bumper-Rich at the Forge of the Sky

To upgrade Burdo-Muck into Bumper-Rich fertilizer, head to the Forge of the Sky. Be careful not to confuse it with other crafting structures like the Reactor or refining units, since it is its own separate station.
At the Forge of the Sky, you will process materials to obtain Liquid Xiranite. Once you have it, combine Liquid Xiranite with Burdo-Muck. The game automatically registers the recipe the first time you mix them, so there is no manual unlock required. After combining the materials, you will receive Bumper-Rich fertilizer.
Raw Burdo-Muck only speeds up growth, while Bumper-Rich does not reduce the growth timer at all. Instead, it doubles your harvest yield once the crops fully mature. For long-term farming and resource production, doubling output is far more valuable than slightly reducing waiting time.
Step 3: Use Fertilizer on the Eco-Farm

Once you have Bumper-Rich, return to your Eco-Farm. Select a planting plot and apply the fertilizer before the crop finishes growing. After that, simply wait for the normal growth timer to complete. Fertilizer does not shorten the countdown, and it does not affect growth speed in any way.
Its only benefit is increasing the number of materials you receive when you harvest. As long as you apply it before the crop finishes, you will get double the yield.
Daily Routine Tips for Efficient Farming

If you want to make fertilizer part of your daily loop, here are a few ways to streamline the process.
- Make a Daily Burdenbeast Run: Log in and visit all three herds first. It only takes a few minutes and keeps your fertilizer supply steady.
- Install a Sprinkler: You can buy a Sprinkler in Wuling to automate watering. This saves you from manually tending crops every cycle.
- Build a Zipline: Setting up a zipline between your Core and the farming area cuts down travel time significantly.
- Check Vendors: NPC vendors near the Wuling City entrance sometimes sell extra seeds and a single bag of Bumper-Rich fertilizer; It is not a huge supply, but it helps if you are short on materials.
Final Thoughts

The Eco-Farm in Arknights: Endfield is more than just a side feature. When used properly, it becomes one of the most reliable ways to secure combat buffs, crafting materials, and steady income. Complete “Burdenbeast Tales,” collect Burdo-Muck daily, craft Bumper-Rich at the Forge of the Sky, and apply it before harvest. Stick to that routine, and your small farm will turn into a long-term advantage that keeps paying off.
Arknights: Endfield is available as a free-to-play game (although microtransactions apply here and there) on PlayStation 5, Windows (via official site or Epic Games Store), IOS and Android devices.
