Bungie has officially announced multiple changes coming to the Marathon Rewards Pass for Season 1. It has revealed new Runner Shell skins that will be available to both free and premium track players. The team has also increased the amount of LUX you get after paying $9.99 (or regional equivalent). These improvements have come after fans expressed disappointment over Marathon S1 Rewards Pass content revealed earlier this month.

The studio has revealed that it will add three new Runner Shell styles to the Premium track and one new Runner Shell style to the free track. The new premium-tier skins will be available for Thief, Assassin, and Destroyer Runner Shells. As for the free-tier, Recon will be getting the new skin. All of these new skins have a monochromatic color scheme, which you might not like if you were expecting something more colorful. Players are expected to get new skins as part of the mid-season update sometime in mid-April.

The team further teased a new Arachne Shell style featuring Triage. This is a colorful style sporting a combination of Red and Black. Players will be able to earn this style via Codex once it is released in mid-April. It will also be part of the Marathon mid-season update.

Players will now get 1120 LUX instead of 1100 LUX if they buy the $9.99 LUX bundle from the in-game store. Everyone who purchased the bundle before this change will get the additional 20 LUX per bundle credited to their Marathon account automatically. This means if you purchased two bundles, you should get 40 LUX credited to your account.

As mentioned in the beginning, Bungie has listened to the feedback from players and implemented these changes. Many players were unhappy with the Marathon Rewards Pass content for Season 1. It primarily offered only weapon stickers and skins. Players expressed disappointment that it had only one character skin (Runner Shell style) and no way to earn LUX back. The latter is a major issue of concern, as many other multiplayer games with a battle pass system allow players to earn in-game currency through pass progress. It works as an incentive for players to grind and keep coming back to the game. It also helps them buy the premium tier of the pass repeatedly.

It is good to see that the team has added new Runner Shell styles to Marathon S1 Pass, but we can only hope that it also adds a way to earn back LUX. We will keep you posted as and when more changes are announced by Bungie.
