As the second phase of Wuthering Waves version 3.3 finally lands (it can be downloaded by May 21, 2026), Kuro Games gacha success introduces a new 5-star Resonator for players to build: Denia, whom you may recognize as one particularly tough boss battle in the current questline, can be pulled from the current featured banner as a Fusion fighter.
And just like any other gacha game out there, pulling and building the antagonist-turned-partner Rectifier user is just one part of the process—in Wuthering Waves, a fighter is as good as the team fighting alongside them. Unlike Hiyuki in the previous banner, however, Denia is not a main DPS, in your face, hi-offensive fighter, but her secondary role on the team’s rotation is nothing to scoff at.
That said, such a strategic character can confuse some players when it comes to team building, so here are some of the best options to pair Denia up with and make the most of your battles.
The Gold Standard: Fusion Burst Optimization

For those seeking the absolute peak of Denia’s performance, the combination of Aemeath, Denia, and Chisa stands as the definitive meta composition.
This lineup focuses entirely on the Fusion Burst mechanic. Denia acts as the primary applicator in this team, generating up to 22 stacks while her Erosion Field provides consistent off-field damage and enemy grouping.
Meanwhile, Aemeath functions as the heavy-hitting carry, detonating the stacks Denia applies for massive damage; while Chisa rounds out the trio as the premium support choice, increasing the maximum stack limit of Negative Statuses and providing healing, making this team exceptionally efficient in multi-target environments.
The Stable, Safe Bet: Tune Strain Synergy

If your roster leans toward newer mechanical systems such as Tune Break and Tune Strain, then the Luuk Herssen, Denia, and Mornye trio would be your best choice.
This premium alternative offers a smoother, more consistent combat flow. In this setup, Denia switches her focus to Tune Strain mode, providing a rare Tune Break boost and significantly accelerating the rate at which enemies reach their Off-Tune thresholds.
This allows Luuk Herssen to execute his powerful Tune Break maneuvers more frequently, solving the issue of slow execution timing against multiple waves. With Mornye providing universal buffs and substantial healing, this team is notably more comfortable to pilot in high-pressure environments like the Tower of Adversity.
Breaking Build: The All-Fusion Offensive

Players who want to push the thematic elemental focus of their roster can opt for a “Triple Fusion” offensive. This typically involves pairing Denia with Lupa and a dedicated Fusion attacker such as Brant or Galbrena.
In this configuration, Denia utilizes her inherent ability to grant a 30% Fusion damage bonus to the entire team while in her Fusion Burst mode. By utilizing Lupa as a support, the team gains more aggressive stacking potential and shared elemental bonuses.
While this build requires more careful play due to the lack of traditional defensive utility, it maximizes the elemental efficiency of the Fusion system, allowing Denia’s own off-field contributions to significantly raise the team’s total damage floor.
The F2P Build: Accessibility and Utility

For players who have saved their resources exclusively for Denia and lack a deep bench of five-star characters, she remains highly effective when paired with accessible 4-star units.
A solid entry-level lineup includes Denia, Sanhua, or Verina. Sanhua is an excellent partner because of her fast concerto generation, which allows Denia to swap in and out frequently to deploy her Erosion Field.
Alternatively, Yangyang can be used to provide energy support, helping Denia maintain her Resonance Liberation uptime. In these teams, Denia handles the bulk of the sub-DPS and crowd-control duties, while the free supports ensure the rotations remain tight and the team stays healthy.
Final Thoughts

Unlike Aemeath, who’s a heavy-hitter, end-of-rotation Resonator that is almost exclusively focused on high DPS capacity, Denia is not a traditional hypercarry who stays on the field indefinitely.
Rather, she is an incredibly flexible sub-DPS and a system-enabler. Her primary identity is that of a Tune Breaker and a specialized buffer who adapts to the needs of the party. She excels at condensing a team’s setup time by providing traction—pulling enemies into clusters—and applying specific debuffs that allow main attackers to hit harder.
Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play game available on Windows, Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, and macOS, with optional microtransactions.
